rane ttm56 vs 57 & technics m5g vs mk5
waddup, i currently own 2 cdj1000's and the djm800 but am looking into buying another setup because i'm sick of not having one in my room. and since i spin mostly hip-hop and rap at gigs, i'm def switching back to vinyl. i'll keep the cdjs and djm in my house because that's where i spin edm.
anyway, im looking into the rane mixers (ttm56 and 57) and the technics (m5g and mk5). are the features on the ttm57 and the m5g worth the extra price? any pro's con's for either or? money isn't really a problem, but the price differences on these is substantial and i was just wondering if you guys could give me your 2 cents.
thanks in advance,
brad
ps. i already own a serato box
Do you really need two Serato units? Do you need to take your own gear to gigs? If you do then selling the one you have and going with the 57 would save you time setting up and breaking down.
I have the Technics M5Gs and find the +/- 8/16% pitch adjust to be very helpful when mixing ghetto tech and Hip-Hop.
My slider feels really stiff compared to the M3Ds I spin on at a radio station. If I could get the feel of the M3D's pitch control on the M5Gs I'd be in business.
i love the TTM57SL and i think if you're planning on using serato it's a great mixer. if not, stick with the TTM56 (unless you intend to buy serato/go digital later on). both are a good choice for 2-channel mixers imo
yeah looks like I'll be going with the m5gs and 57 from agiprodj for a little less than 2600 bills. I'm gonna keep my Serato box for my in home setup and as a backup if anything would ever happen to the 57. Money isn't really a problem so might as well get the best. Now I just have to pick between the ortofon scratch (the red ones) or the qberts (black and white ones) LOL
