How can you call them the Pumpkins when they don't have James Iha or Darcie? That's like saying the new Guns N Roses album with Axl is actually considered Guns N Roses. Uncle Fester should stop using the band's name and reputation and just call it the Corgan project.
FYI, I've hung out with Corgan back in the day...he's an uber prick...and Iha used to practice in the basement of my biology building when I went to Loyola. I'm a huge fan..but holding onto long gone memories of what was is silly. You'll have fun regardless at the Brawlroom Milo...I just have beef with Corgan.
Seen Hum twice..definitely a great live show if you get the chance to see them Blakers. I'd put them up there with when I saw Nirvana and Rage for the first time.
how much are tickets?
edit: oh didn't know james iha and d'arcy wretzsky aren't members anymore. fail

| Originally posted by Quadlow exactly, i was really tempted when they first came around. maybe, if one other member was with them i would go, but this isn't the pumpkins. |

| Originally posted by Omega_Blue it's kinda ironic, because before there was all of the drama with whether jimmy chamberlain would return to the group after john melvoin's overdose, and now it's just jimmy and billy and no one else. |
^^ Can I have your autograph?
roommate just bought tickets to the sunday show, really kind of hard to believe that they are still available.

I saw this Pumpkin tour here in KC last week (Nov 24), and caught the first night, and it was REALLY good. They played tracks from Gish all the way up to Zeitgesit and few more new ones to boot. Yes, James and D'Arcy are no longer members, but the guitarist in James place played just as good if not better, and I am a HUGE James fan from back in the day as well. The girl on bass rocked it as well, and really had no expressions while playing, so she fit D'Arcy's position perfect. The band sounded great, and I was very impressed with the show, so if you get a chance....I lived in Chicago back when the Pumpkins were "breaking up", and was able to see both Aragon shows, and these new shows were very comparable to me. Also, I was doing some searching online, and I came across this SP website where they are recording it looks like all of their shows in MP3 or FLAC format, and you can buy a download for the whole show. Once the KC shows are up, I'll definitely support them, and I think that it is a pretty good idea. Looking at the website, their first couple Chicago shows at the Chicago Theater on the 18 and 19th are available for download. Enjoy!

I remember seeing A Perfect Circle with James Iha, and Nine Inch Nails with Jeordie White from Manson.
APC was top notch in my opinion.
I would have thought ticket scalpers would be all over this, but I guess even in this economy ticket scalpers have to cut back.
tickets bought, looking forward to this!

not playing hummer is like led lepplin not playing stairway to heaven
Hummer would have been great, but all the new shit was equally awesome imo. 35 minute long song, Gossamer, was just unreal (very Zepplin influenced sounding as well!)

Saw them several times during Gish days.June 1992 at St. Andrews hall, only $10.00 general admission. It was one of the best shows of my life, nothing they could do now would compare.
