LIVE! The Progressive Showcase 023 'Best of...2008' w Tom Bailey & Freesoup. Sense.FM

Tom Bailey presents...

The Progressive Showcase
Episode 023 'Best of...2008' w/ Guest Freesoup

Monday December 8th 2008
Exclusive to http://www.sense.fm

The Progressive Showcase returns exclusively to http://www.sense.fm with Episode 023, our retrospective look at the best of 2008. I'll be presenting an hour of my favourite tracks from this year, split into categories, acting as something of an awards show.

The second hour of the show sees me welcoming back our 'Guest of The Year', a DJ who provided a standout guest mix for us back in May. Freesoup will be providing the soundtrack with a fantastic eclectic thirty minutes. As one of our top rated guests during 2008 it's only fitting we welcome back Freesoup for another half hour showcase.

The second hour of this week's show was also scheduled to feature a thiry minute mix from Russell G, but due to unforseen circumstances Russell is unable to provide us with a 'Guest of The Year' mix so I'll be filling in with a second thiry minutes to round out the show. We're hoping to have Russell back for another guest mix sometime in early 2009.

The show kicks off at our usual time of 17.00 (GMT) via the Progressive Channel on http://www.sense.fm I very much hope some of you can tune in!

Yep this opening hour is my awards type run-down of the year. My full year mix will be going out in Episode 024

Sounding good so far dude...nice to hear Long Distance...don't think I've ever heard it in a club

Posted by defusion on Dec-08-2008 17:28:

Not my favourite tune from anjunadeep this year, but good nonetheless.

I think the label has really come into its own this year and would get label of the year for me too, closely followed by Coldharbour.

what a tune that Whiplash is, can't believe it has slipped under my radar.

Front is awesome too! \o/

Wippenberg has really impressed this year.

Russ had a great year, shame that he was forced to pull out from providing us with a 'Guest of The Year' mix, 'Front' is such a stunning track, definately a favourite (as it's #2 ranking probably suggests haha)

Tune of The Year #1
10. Robert Babicz 'Dark Flower' (Joris Voorn Magnolia Mix)

great crossover tune this one i think, that is why it has appealed to DJ's and fans of so many different genres. Have it at Number 1 on my techno/tech-house chart.

Probably heard 'By Default' which I think was Tune of The Week on ASOT, he's changed things up a little yes. His guest mix on the show in May was our highest rated this year

Posted by defusion on Dec-08-2008 18:12:

02. Minilogue 'Doiicie A' [Minilogue]
03. Dubfire & Oliver Huntemann 'Dios' [Ideal Audio]

both sick, especially Dios...this is a TUUUUNE!!
