Has anyone studied/has looked into studying in France?

I'm going through the hoops of trying to apply to do a Master's in France. This is the most brain draining, progress impeding task I have ever encountered. I can't even get a person to respond.

Has anyone done something like this that would like to give me some pointers?

As is my understanding from second hand experiences the French higher education system is notoriously difficult, with teachers intentionally making the courses hard leading to an exceptionally high rate for failing students. Apparently the application process is proving to be similar for you. unfortunately this isn't constructive for resolving the problem directly, but it might be worthwhile considering a different option if you have any open to you for the path you want to take. if there are comparable alternatives in your field many countries have far more accessible and nurturing systems, though if it is unparalleled i sympathise and wish you luck, any such application process is exhausting and stressful, especially when it concerns your future

yes, but graham went as part of an exchange program from his university here, so he didn't have to deal with the admin side when apply to UdeLyon

Good point. I didn't even think it would be that different.

from my understanding, tuition fees for international students in any country are insane, hence me not being able to study outside of the country. i think when i was looking into the UK, it was like �10 000 for one year. could be wrong though.

werd. except my school only had an exchange to a shitty university in london, not the places i wanted to go to. actually, i really wanted to go on the exchange in australia, and i'm sort of kicking myself now for not going. meh.

Don't think so. There are some rules around exchanges I believe.

Like you cannot participate in an exchange program if you are currently in your last semester. You have to finish your last semester at home to be accepted in the exchange program.

That's why most people go on exchange in their third year.

I had quite a few friends who went to France for school, but it was all exchange, and the I knew other people who were from France going to school, but that doesn't apply here.

I think I had a friend or two go to France for a Master's Program but cannot remember. All I know is that if they did, they had help from their professors. I went to a bilingual University so we had lots of connections and affiliations with Universities over there. We had some profs who taught in France and Toronto in the same year.

I'm kicking myself in the ass for deciding to go back to do a Masters, haha. Took too long of a break and feel totally detached from the school frame of mind.

here's a far fetched scenario.

You move to Quebec and stay there for one year without studying, you could work for example.

after one year, you become a quebec resident and have access to "free" education in France( you pay the same tution as a qu�becois but in france).

thats all.
