headphone problems
hey guys ive had this issue for about 4 months now and today it really hit me why dont i find a way to fix this (if there is a way)
well here is the issue i have sony mdr700 headphones and the problem is only one side seems to work the left one works but the right side there is no sound im assuming the wire is messed up somewhere can someone help me out with this issue if this happened to anyone ..
thanks
yup it can be fixed, buy better headphones
sony mdr-7506 are a good choice
burn them and buy some 7506s
okay now.. any real answers to how this can be fixed?
Open it up and resolder the wires. This will define to buy the 7506. Or if you want to save a little money, the v6.
those were real answers, the 700's are notorious for breaking
now that they've broken, time to get some big-boy headphones
well for now i got to use what i have so..
as for soldering them has anyone tried doing this before?
Yes. The wires are color coordinated and theres a specific place you solder the red wire. Sometimes theres an additive to make the solder appear a different color and thats where you put the red wire. Since the v700s are corded on only one side its a little more confusing, but basically if your IQ is <30 you should be ok.
Get new headphones, v700s are terrible. You can probably pick up the v6 @ guitar center for ~$50 nowadays with their 10% pricematch. Thats probably less than half of what you paid for your v700. If you wanna spend a little extra and get the 7506, you should.
