Anyone get the Storm yet?
Was just wondering if anyone bought the blackberry storm yet?
I thinking of buying one but waiting for a few reviews of the telus network and performance.
Let me know what you think
Thanks
I bought 10 of them for shooting practice
Looks syck!.. but I'm not on smart phones yet..
While it goes without saying that the BlackBerry Storm is going to be one of the hottest handsets this holiday season in Canada, Telus wants everyone to know that if theyre planning on either giving or receiving a Telus Storm on Christmas Day that it must be ordered no later than December 17th. A launch date hasnt been officially announced, but there is a lot of buzz on the interwebs pointing to a release this Friday (the 12th) or Monday (the 15th).
Update: It looks like Telus is soft-launching the Storm because were hearing that the full-scale launch has been delayed until January due to RIMs failure to deliver adequate levels of stock (estimates say Telus has 2,500 units for all of Canada). As a result, those stores with stock will be able to sell the device to new clients only so that Telus will be able to brag about a Stormy Christmas. But since a hell of a lot of people are going to be left out on this one Telus is offering the following promotions:
$0 LG Dare, $0 Blackberry Pearl, $49 Blackberry Curve Promotional pricing is now available on voice plans of $25 or more Sweet Deal 25 ($17.50) now eligible for promotional pricing of data devices Thanks, Dani!

If your planning on buying one on its release date then I would suggest that you guys check all the telus stores near you because not all stores will have it they will have a total of 4000 units available in all channels like call centers, stores e.t.c.......plus bell will have 4000 units in all channels thanks to verizon in the US.......Some stores might not even get it its going to be like PS3 deal when it came out and people had to wait in line infront of the store from days before.
I was going to buy it but not anymore due to the fact that txting on it is very hard ......I have played with one here in our office its hard to txt on that piece of hyped up shit....Plus its kinda slow as well.

I got one, but I'm using it on Rogers. I can't really say much about surfing, since it's on EDGE. Tellus is CDMA.
The phone calls are crystal clear, but again, thats on EDGE.
I have one of the unreleased OSs, and pretty much all the issues have been fixed. Telus and Bell will most likely be using one of these OSs.
Typing is fast, much faster than iPhone, but slower than any other BlackBerry.
The screen is amazing. Sharp and vibrant images. I'd say as sharp and vibrant as the bold. Even though the resolution is technically smaller.
The lock button is ingenious. Just press it, and it unlocks/locks. Using a password stops accidental unlocks.
Media player is vasly superior than pretty much anything out there. Auto updating search of music, make playlists on the fly makes media very easy. Multiple file formats supported for media, and documents. I just drag and drop my torrented AVIs and watch movies whenever I travel.
What more could I say. Ask if you want to know something specific.

Not wanting to be left out of the party, Bell has followed Telus lead and announced that it too has released the BlackBerry 9530 Storm in Canada. Available today in the Greater Toronto Area, the Storm will be widely available at stores across Canada tomorrow. If you live in a more rural area and prefer to order your phones online, then bell.ca wont be listing the Storm until tomorrow. As for the cost of the phone, Bell is asking for 3-years and $249.99 in conjunction with a minimum of $45 of voice and data per month. ($5 more per month than Telus requires.) As for the levels of stock that each store will receive, were afraid that its not a whole lot because Bell has been emailing their most valued customers $50-off coupons for the Storm that are valid for all of January. All things lead us to believe that Bell is doing what Telus is doing only offering the device to new customers until adequate levels of stock arrive.
Thanks, to everyone that sent this in!
