New Josh Wink Artist Album Coming :)

http://www.residentadvisor.net/news.aspx?id=9983

Philly born and based producer Josh Wink will release his fourth studio album early next year.

Entitled When a Banana Was Just a Banana, the full-length will see Wink in three different formats: Physical, vinyl and digital. For the former, the album will be a continuous mix. On the latter two, the tracks will be split into discrete versions so that DJs can easily mix the tracks themselves. According to Wink, those tunes span a variety of electronic genres, as the title of the album refers to a time when "music was just music.Nobody was ridiculed or had views of 'I only listen to this one kind of music'. I miss the innocence of how it was... Like when you were younger, 'A Banana Was Just a Banana'." We'll reserve judgment on just how different things are until we hear it, but we can't help but be intrigued by the forthcoming single, "Counter Clock 319," which was reportedly inspired by listening to a DJ set of slower house by Dixon or the 17-minute "Jus' Right."

Tracklist
01. Airplane Electronique
02. Counter Clock 319
03. What Used to Be Called Used to Be
04. Jus' Right
05. Dolphin Smack
06. Minimum 23
07. Everybody to the Sun
08. Hypnoslave
09. Stay Out All Night

Josh Wink will release When a Banana Was Just a Banana on Ovum Recordings in February 2009.

This will be silly, no doubt!!!

2) Counter Clock 319
This was originally called 319 Acid, similar to 516 Acid, but it was called 319 as I started this on March 19th 2007.

After playing around with ideas, and effects, I created a panning motion in the track which when listened to in headphones travels in a counter clockwise fashion.

I was listening to a set of (DJ) Dixon and noticed how slow and groovy most of the set was, which influenced me to make a twisted, intense track that was in the same tempo range.

That would be awesome. I don't know that the tracks are all going to be available separately as the actual album is mixed.

Its a quadruple vinyl. They will be separate. I've never heard of a mixed cd actually being brought over to vinyl as one long track. Would be interesting concept however. Probably have to switch to microgrooves to compact it all onto the vinyl and then you'd have crap quality pressings

Didn't know if I should make another thread or just bump this...

Counter Clock 319 is now out as a single with a remix from Chris Liebing

its OK. I'm gonna wait for the full album instead of pissing around with singles.

The full album is mixed so you might as well buy the singles when they come out

Although, I'd imagine the digital release will have the tracks individually....so nevermind

OMG! I'm loving it. I can't help but admire Wink's versatility. They're all so different and yet I love them all.

Jus Right is AWESOME

Wow, from the samples I've heard so far, this is going to be really great. Its good to see producers actually put this much effort into an artist album.
