Slumdog Millionaire

Easily the best film of 2008, and probably my favorite Danny Boyle (Sunshine, 28 Days Later, Trainspotting) film now too.

O...Saya - A.R. Rahman & M.I.A.

Anyone else seen this? Truly epic stuff, glad to see it nominated for best picture, best director, and best score at the Golden Globes.

I've heard a lot of good things about this film.

thanks for bringing this to my attention, will check out

The soundtrack is pretty sick too - a couple of appearances from M.I.A. don't hurt. And the music is really the driving force of the film in a few places - I've never heard a montage so loud.

Boyle gets some beautiful shots, and the landscape is stunning.

Already planning on seeing this again.

Wow! interesting timing. Just saw the trailer yesterday afternoon. Looks awesome.

I am planning on watching it this week. I missed the showing of this movie 2 months ago when they were showing it at limited theatres. Not going to miss the opportunity now.

Rasta

FANTASTIC MOVIE! I had the chance to see it at the premiere at TIFF. Definitely the best movie of 2008 IMO

Just saw the movie tonight... fucking GREAT. Lord knows I hate siding with Lebz but, he's right. Awesome score and cinematography.

i have to agree.

This movie is pretty good, but not as great as people have put it to be. People are calling this best picture of the year, which I don't see. I really do think 'Beverly Hills Chihuahua' is the best film of the year.

but yeah I do like the whole story plot process and his screen shots of Mumbai. I can't put this movie as a perfect 10/10.

8.5/10

I do like the M.I.A. tracks.
I also do like the ending dance sequence.

Loved every bit of it. M.I.A. Paper Planes + trainjumping cinematography = ultimate feeling of "freedom" within the miserable slumdog life.

I'm also currently reading "The White Tiger" by Aravnid Adiga, excellent book with a very similar topic (slumdog goes entrepeneur), although more satirical/political/darker. Highly recommended!

really enjoyed it.

Good movie, very epic, gives you that false hopeful feeling of warmth... god, I hate lovey dovey movies.

Good movie, but it just reeks too much of fake romance and fake nobility.

Have you even seen the movie? I'd say he's doing pretty well in the "get a life" department.

i agree. There's a lot more to that line he said, if one has watched the movie. It does sound cheesy, but there's more meaning to it other than it's heart-touching loving words.

//edit

still not bought into as "the best movie of 2008". maybe top 10 at best, but not best.
