Cielo didn't get Carl Craig either

Cielo cancelled Carl Craig's Demon Days show this past Sunday. The word is Craig is pretty sick, looks to be legit. Although obviously disappointed about him not making the last two dates in Toronto and NY, let's hope he gets better and starts thinking when he can pencil Tdot back into his schedule.

Can't speak on behalf of that event in Germany but his wifey
was in labor that weekend of Mutek, so he couldn't travel.

There has been talks of a possible return to Montreal for
Mutek's 10 year anniversary at the end of May, so who knows.

was HE in labour? but seriously, often the date babies pop out isn't a total surprise so it might have been smart to take a week or so off either side of the due date if he knew he was going to bail any shows if it happened. not really fair to the promoter or the fans if he knows in advance there's a reasonable chance he may flake the show.

A week or two off around a possible birth date is half a month's income just when you need it the most - and most men don't do that as it is. Sucks that there was a conflict and it wasnt unreasonable for him to think he could fly up for a quick gig and then get home the next day.

Carl Craig sick

Carl Craig was indeed legitimately sick. As the co-founder and other resident DJ in Demon Days along with Carl I can tell you he has never missed a DJ date in over three years of the club night roving around America.

What happened is we went to Monterrey in Mexico on the Friday (12th) and either food he ate there, or some kind of bug, got a hold of him and made him start to vomit on the flight to Atlanta (we had to change planes to get to Toronto). He got off the plane to change planes and was sick again. Then our flight was delayed. It became clear he was not getting better so he checked in to a hotel to try and rest but threw up again. Later that day hoping it was behind him he got up and attempted to make another flight - yet again he threw up. This was no ordinary simple bug. Carl was still sick the next day hence the decision to cancel NYC too.

Carl regrets missing both the Toronto and New York dates but they will be made up sometime in the future.

In reference to Mutek Carl was not sick then - he had a personal family matter that had to be attended to - it was unfortunate timing. The hope is he will perform at Mutek 2009 though that is still TBA.

Carl is just a human being like the rest of us. He gets sick and has family emergencies. Things happen. Carl does not miss gigs deliberately. He never has and never will.
Fans should rest assured that they are important to him. He is one of the hardest working people I know in this game. We appreciate the understanding of both the Toronto promoters (to go ahead with the party) and the NYC promoters (who choose to cancel).

Stay tuned to http://www.demon-days.com for news of 2009 US dates.
