Not only did he RAPE "Halcyon+On+On", he is fucking selling it as his own. I seriously doubt Orbital gave permission for this

This song is actually named after me, not that other one by that one band or whatever.

Yeah seriously. Half of the sample is practically lifted straight from the original. They probably had a similar arrangement to what Laurent Garnier had w/ funkagenda.

Plus, all this "oh noez, he's selling at as his own" nonsense needs to stop. It's a cover. Musicians have been labeling covers this way for decades. As long as the other group gave permission and writing credits were given out appropriately there is really nothing wrong. Granted, on beatport you can't see the liner info to know who has the writing credits, but as this track is professionally released by a real label I have to assume that everything is reasonably in order. I mean, they didn't even change the name. It's not like they're trying to fool anybody.

It's not terrible, just unnecessary.

I'd like a stop order in the classic remake world.

I know it won't happen cuz I know of atleast 1 more coming up ;\

Compared to some of the updated remixes we've heard, this one is practically genius. I think it's quite good.

yeh, its one of those classics that shouldn't be touched, but, he hasn't totally raped it like some other people do with classics, not bad at all

Posted by lcid on Dec-16-2008 21:16:

can we just take a moment to laugh at the artwork for the release?

Oh. I was hoping this would be a deadmau5 thread.

Call me when Joel remakes Belfast. He should do it just to piss everyone off.
