Personally, I would probably avoid answering by making fun of the question in a way so as to effectively change the subject. Alternately, you could respond directing the same question to them -- then, simply give them back whatever answer they gave you; they can't very well hold it against you then, can they?

Heh, point taken. That problem is one of the reasons why I would not personally go with that option. Even so, I think it is in most circumstances a significantly better approach than answering directly.
