Airbase Lesson 003: Vocal Chop Chop

It's time to show off just how I do my vocal chops. I try to keep it as simple as possible in this tutorial. Presented in 720p using Ableton Live 7.

Head over to http://www.airbasemusic.com then go to the menu Community and click Tutorials

If you like them, I'll keep posting them. Feel free to suggest things you want me to do tutorials on at my website.

Wow! Good to see you back here! Youre one of the best out there, so any tutorial is welcome!
But how to make a decent kick and bass (which works togeter) is maybe my nr.1 suggestion.
Id like to know if you have any tips for creating nice sounding pads as well!

Amazing tutorial, thanks!

Could you do a tutorial on a rolling baseline?

Oh my!

This tutorial is way good!
Even I don't use Ableton, but his gives nice ideas/inspiration how to play with my vocals. Thanks from Finland!

By the way, idea for new tutorial:
1. How to get that danceable kick!
2. Bass lines...

Can I get a definition of that first?

No you can't

Well... I was thinking a kick that is powerful but not too powerful, that sort of kick that they use in trance and other electric music.
You know? Not like acoustic drum... Did this make any sense at all?

you know like...an early 909 kick, with just a little less snap, something like an 808 kick, but with the extra punch of the 606 kick and also some little touch of the sound of the early boss drum machines...

on a more serious note, I think my tutorial on bass and kick might be quite usefull...

so true, but how do you do that when you only own 909 and 808 emulations like me?

No dancable kicks for me!

Oh dear!
You don't have to be sad, you can purchase Deadrat6's sample pack...it only contains one kick, one hat and a snare, but it's all you need for succesful music career!
