Who likes the snow ?

How aboot this good ol Canadian weather EH ?

Snow is pretty, it's fun to play in, and Christmas isn't the same without it. However a few things would have to change in order for me to not hate it:

1) If snow was warm yet didn't melt
- Instead of melting it just evaporated so that there was never any slushy wetness in the spring
2) It didn't snow on roads, side walks, the path to my hot tub or the hot tub lid.
3) No matter how much snow there was it never weighed a lot so if you did need to shovel somewhere it would not hurt your back.

Since none of these things will ever happen... I HATE snow.

point 1 especially - I hate walking around with pants rolled up or holding them up like a skirt because of the stupid gross slush!

I like snow up until about the second week of february when i just want it to end but it never does... I think im starting to enjoy it less with age.

I like looking at it snowing from my window.. that's about it!

I like the snow, but not in the city. Back home, I would have so many options on things to do on a day like today:

- snowmobiling
- hiking in the forest (it's really peaceful in the winter)
- snowshoeing
- ice fishing
- skating on the pond
- cross country skiing
- tobogganing

But all I can do here in Toronto is look out my window and feel miserable.

A bit of snow appreciation:

One thing I do like about snow is how strange it seems to people who have never experienced it. When I was in Punta Cana last year I was trying to explain snow to a local and we both ended up confused. Its not an easy thing to describe.

And watching people see snow for the first time always puts a smile on my face.

Snow is also at best right after a storm before anyone has had a chance to make it dirty and put footprints everywhere. As a kid I would get mad if someone walked on our front lawn (until I went out to play). Also its the best when its makes the trees look like crystal in the sun.

I love throwing snowballs. I use to always get in trouble at school.

Tobogganing and snow tubing are the best.

Snow angles are fun to make but you always end up with snow up your jacket, so I dont think its worth it.

Snow days!! In barrie we would get a ton.

Big snow flakes that fall down slowly and you can see their individual shapes.

Snow makes things romantic because its so pretty and you get cold so its an extra reason to keep each other warm.

Santa needs snow for his sleigh.

you can def. do those things here.

hiking in the forest you can do in high park.

snowshoeing you can do anywhere along the don valley or high park.

i saw a guy cross country skiing along the don valley last year. it's actually really long.

tobagganing can easily be done in riverdale. one of the best hills in the city.

Uh, the fact that it gets packed hard and it's pretty much an ice ball. Yeah, not safe.

kids have been throwing snowballs at each other for centuries ive never heard anyone dying or getting injured by one

I am completely exhausted after shoveling the driveway. Leave it to winter to make me realize I'm morbidly out of shape.

Hooray for snowblowers (and living in a predominantly Portuguese neighbourhood where every 2nd neighbour has a pickup with a plow on the front).

Also, double hooray for taboozening tomorrow night.

Dima taught me how to doughnuts with his car a week or 2 ago. It was fun and scary!

Hmm thanks for the tips! We should have a TA tobogganing day/evening sometime!

If Sunday isnt too snowy and Im not too tired I think Im going to go tobogganing at riverdale. I always wanted to go.



Where can I get sleds downtown? Canadian Tire has some, right?

that's your best bet.

i'd love to go, but there's no way i'm hauling my sled from richmond hill on public transit lol.
