Ok, im getting these headphones, any objections ?
AKG K240 MK II
Anyone got any objections, other recommendations or experience about these headphones ?
These will be used directly into the soundcard for mixing, composing etc.

akg k240s are awesome, i just got some mk IIs cause i wanted the replaceable cable and earpads, they're not necessary though, so just go for the Studio ones which are a fair bit cheaper unless your obsessive like me

I actually own these headphones and overall, they're great. Some points I'd like to address though:
Pros:
- Very light, I can wear these for hours without getting a headache
- Clean sound
- Solid build
Cons:
- I cannot rely on them 100% to give me an accurate sound for monitoring. I use it for when doing things like mixing, putting the actual track together, and working on the song structure, but I'd never use it for EQing or mastering. I always recommend using monitor speakers for that.
Hope that helps!

Yes, looks like im going with the AKG K 242 HD, which seems to be the same phones.
im going for the akg 272 HDs... any comments on those? the 271s get great reviews everywhere but havent heard anything about the 272s... guessing its the same but a nicer look

I'm using these, they are awesome and very true to my monitors (behringer truth)
edit: oh wait, MK2, not sure if these are that, probably not, awesome 240's though

I used them to research my cans and I was very happy with it, fully what I expected. But I did find a lower price elsewhere.
You will need equalization when using that set Im afraid. There is a serious lows boost going on there that will muddy up everything.
If you are going to spend that much anyway, I would upgrade to the AGK K 702. The stats on those look much more friendly to the ear.

I think AKG 240 studio's are pretty inaccurate. I was thinking of getting the mk II's but if you guys are telling me they are pretty much the same then never mind. I'll go for the 701's instead.
innocent hijack
i bought the AKG K 271 MKII,but what is the best affordable solution to use them with the delta 1010LT(rca output)for now i'm using a sh*ty female jack to 2rca adapter, should i need a headphone amp or better adapter will do?
Why are AKG's better than another manufacturer, other than hype and popularity?
