The New Beatport

I knew it wasn't long before Beatport revamped the site again... loads of new relevant features, these guys know whats up

http://www.thenewbeatport.com/

Release date:
January 21st 2009

FINALLY.

The genre filter is the one I've been griping about the most. I find my music by clicking 'View All', and looking at all releases, usually clicking on artists/genres that typically appeal to me. So fucking time consuming.

Nice work Beatport... now I can get back to having a life. lol

I usually base my buying decisions on no more than 10 seconds of a track ha ha

Yea 10-20 is how long it should take.

New beatport looks sick.

I usually take the same but sometimes there are tracks that I can't decide on and want to hear more.. but that's probably an indication I should just dump it

Big up to Jim Rivers for his track "Ron Hardy Said" being in that video !!!

Can't wait for the new Beatport !

oh god.. that lame ass video was sooooo gay.

it will redefine your senses.. LOL

it's a music downloading site FFS!

Effing eh! Finally some improvements. I've always had sooo many gripes about their site, especially how long it took them to get Paypal but that issue has been rectified now. I can only assume Beatport will get better from hereon in.

yea I thought it was a bit too cheesy..

I hope they will have better sounding (higher bitrate) samples... I'ts the main reason I stop looking up tracks in any given session.

when in the new year?
all i know is it's gonna stay black

Still no mixes section!

I don't buy tracks, but I am more than willing to buy mix albums. How long does it take to implement something so brutally simple?

Posted by samhouse on Dec-24-2008 06:50:

i believe they already sell mix albums don't they?

Posted by Owen M on Dec-24-2008 06:54:

still not meeting all the needs...

Posted by Mortyman on Dec-24-2008 15:36:

It would be nice if they implemented a music player like djdownload.com where you can choose what part of the track you want to listen to

Honestly...

Unless they're planning to send scented snail-mail receipts

I know its weird but I would prefer not to have that choice, I like the fact that the artist gets to chose the best 2 mints of the track, sorta saving you the hassle of thinking too much lol

actually from what i understand they have a program that randomly selects the section of the track.

I too would like to be able to quickly skip through an entire track on beatport. There have been plenty of tracks of bought because they sounded good, only to find out everything outside of the clip was shit. I`ve also seen DOPE tracks on the site not sell because the part of the tune in the sample was a breakdown. Though that works out okay when I end up being the only person in town that`s playing it.

I'm more interested in taste. I want to taste tracks like "Super Pussy - Cbass (milton jackson mix) & "Doo Doo - Preston"

I hope they stop putting those stupid catalog numbers on the file names. So Annoying having to re-name every file I buy.
