House, M.D.

Man, I freakin' love this show. Hugh Laurie's humor is great.

Anyone agree?

his act is getting old. script to this show is like listening to a broken record. annoying indeed

Posted by Psionic on Dec-24-2008 05:46:

He spends the first half of the episode killing someone, the other half saving them.

Only now? I noticed that by the second or third episode that aired; someone has a problem, people think they know what it is and treat it accordingly, patient gets worse, House knows and does something radical but people give him tons of shit and disagree and threaten his job etc., treatment ends up working and his underlings go, "Oh lulz we need to go back to med school. PRAISE HOUSE!"

I mean, really, correct me if I'm wrong (because I've never watched one full episode), but every trailer for every episode I've seen has had that exact same format. It's bullshit.

Mm... you could say that, yeah. But it's great just the way it is

The show is definitely formulaic, but I really enjoy the medical stuff and the characters are interesting enough to make the show entertaining.

You're correct, but the show does have its good moments when it deals with bigger issues. Sadly, it uses these as minor subplots and shit, making the show 98% formulaic.

beat show evar.

Well firstly watch a couple of episodes because the show is not about him solving the cases and secondly give me a show in which after three episodes i can't have a prediction of where the show is heading to.

yeah.

and it's still a great show, stop over-analyzing it.

Great show

Posted by Ian on Dec-24-2008 10:08:

check sig

It's awesome because of the interaction between characters, nobody remembers the plots, the people they have to save or try to, but they remember the great interplay between everyone.

Fixed.

What exactly is the show about?

is it like Dexter?

lol i don't think that's totally the case. Wilson for example plays really well off him as being his own person even if he doesn't always get the better of him. I think the cast overall make the show, Hugh is great but you need people to work with who add to it being funny, one man can't carry a show like that and do so in such a funny way

No because dexter kills the hispanics, house tries to save them, if they have insurance anyway.

Posted by david.michael on Dec-24-2008 14:03:

Admittedly formulaic, but still teh best show evar.

Posted by shonguiz on Dec-24-2008 14:19:

Loved it since the first episode despite being rather repetitive.

Not only are the conflicts between him and his peers very real, but some of them genuinely dislike him. They think he's a cocky fuck and they let him know. And yes, at his core he's an unapologetic dick. An unapologetic dick who's addicted to Vicodin, no less.

But he's an absolute genius. A tortured genius in a lot of ways. And it makes for great television. The show is about much more than him being right all the time.
