yippie! It's bought!

Got it online, a Western Digital External FireWire 80 gigger, with a 3.5 inch Firewire external box (WTF is that????)

can't wait until it comes!!! OMG!!!

Congrats! I got a Maxtor 80gb external firewire drive a little over a year ago, put all of my music on it and today it only has 2.3 gigs left. I like it a lot except for the fact that after a few months it started running louder and now can get annoying. I'm not sure what the 3.5 inch external box is. The firewire drives come in a shell but that seems way to small to fit a hard drive in.

methinks a long time since I don't download livesets. I have 10 gigs of singles right now though... so 80 can be done...

i have an 80 gig maxtor and once i just had a few gigs left it started making noise. and now it has gotten very very fragmented, seems liek it has started to die i'm going to try and get some dvd-r burned to back it up..

You mean you current hard drive, i dont beleive you have a hard drive on your cpu, hmmmmmm

Anyway i think you will find cdrs come in handy.

Oh and i have 2 maxtors, internall and have had no probs with them. And i have also got a seagate on my other comp, which are supposed to be dodgy, but no rpbos with that.

I hope to be getting a 120gig hard drive soon, they are only just over �100 at computer fairs

thats nothing, I got a 120Gig WD120JB, 7200RPM and 8MB cahce, for 144.20 from DELL, new fresh, and free shipping. Its only "half" full now. I think I will need terabyte soon.

My 2 month old Liteon 40125S cdwriter just died. I think i was backing up tooo much.

I have 2 WD 120s at 7200 in a RAID 0 array sooo.. a 240GB 14400 RPM drive...

and a 60 gb 7200 for OS and programs.
