Good Temporary Alternative To These Plug-Ins

So I'm buying a Mac Pro, but I'm not so excited to hear that Waves Diamond and Altiverb 5 (two plug-ins I use extensively) do not support Universal Binary for Intel Macs.

Can anyone suggest two awesome alternatives that will work for Intel Macs? For Waves, I mainly used their EQ (10-Parametric) and Compressors. Fo Altiverb 6 I obviously used reverb. This is seriously a deciding factor for me as a few other plug-ins also do not support Universal Binary (and I'm willing to let those slide), but I definately need a good alternative for EQ and Compression, as well as reverb.

Are you sure your Waves bundle won't work, have you contacted Waves? That's a lot of money to lose just because you're switching platforms. The plugins say they're both PC and Mac compatible.

EQ:

If you have the UAD platform, there are several good options for EQ. Cambridge, Pultec, Neve 88RS (which is a complete channel strip), Neve 1073 & 1081.

I know for a fact that Waves Q-series EQ's work on an Intel Mac.

Sonnox Oxford EQ is great as well.

Compression:

Again, I'll have to plug the UAD Compressors here. 1176LN and Fairchild 670 are outstanding. Also I know the Waves C1-series compressors work on Intel Macs.

Sonnox Oxford Dynamics is great.

Reverb:

If you are switching to Logic, then Space Designer is really good if you are looking for a convolution reverb. Waves TruVerb works on Intel Macs.

Otherwise, Sonnox Reverb is probably the best of the rest.

You should wait until the new mac pro comes out, with the i7 xeon processors! Hopefully right after/before macworld 2009.
