Dancing Dude Review: Luke Fair- Toika

All I have to say right now is Luke keeps impressing me more and more and more each time I see him play.

Nice 5 hour story told by the Fair...Deepness... followed by the funk... and ending with simply banging tunes!

Amazing Vibe. Everyone was just in to every beat he dropped....

Until the next time....

Thank you Bring The Beats once again for another successful evening.

No more reviews?? Any tracks ids?

Amazing tunes. Space filled up early and was still busy right til 4am. Way too many great friends, including those I haven't seen in ages. Lots of drinks & a few shots too. A great birthday indeed. Thanks BTB for putting this all together!

p.s. Cannot for the life of me ID any tunes - see my above comment on too many drinks. Simple awesome funky, chunky Luke-type tunes from 1am onwards... and the whole night flew by too fast!

Still reeling over the greatness of the tunes....

Surprised not much was said about this night from others.

Not only did I have to close at work this night, but I was also suffering from a bad cold. Still managed to fight through it and make it out. Although I couldn't breathe most of the time, and I felt worse when I went home, no regrets. Got in just past 12 am with no problems (Thx Gregor ) and the music was bumping already. Great loungy venue. Crowd was gorgeous albeit a bit packed. People were there for the tunes and you could totally tell; it was an older crowd. I can see myself coming out to Toika some more in 2009.

I don't understand Luke. Like Knox, he baffles me and puts me in a state of awe every time I see him. He his this innate ability to play awesomely always! Just when I thought he couldn't play any better than last time - YO!!! 2 of my top 5 parties in 2008 consist of ones where he's played... this doesn't surprise me at all. When I first heard him in 2005 I described his sound as "monkeys grooving on a palm tree" and I can still picture that in his recent sets. But from 2007-2008 his sound has evolved into various arrays of progressive house. Futuristic, Funky, Warm, Fuzzy melodies. His beats make me feel like I'm on a boat. Chunky Boat music perhaps? LOVE it! Recognized from tunes from the boat cruise, and also my fav disco sounding track from Howell's Renaissance that made me feel fuzzy.

Oh Luke! Such a class act too. Always puts up a good friendly front.. down to earth. Think I'm in love. bwahaha.

Thanks to BTB! You guys put together some pretty great parties.

Luke Fair is sick. Anyone remember this guy opening up for Tiesto in 02 at the Kool Has? He was playing all out with crazy prog and trancey stuff. Really interesting. He dropped Twilo Thunder I believe and I was happy ppl recognized it and started cheering.

I remember my first time seeing him properly was in 2003 before Deep Dish. Him and Desyn Masiallo opened up. Me and my buddy came extra early and there was like no one there and Luke Fair dropped Forever More (Francois K remix). I forget who it's by but it sounded so good and I'm always just going to associate him with that song. ah the good ol' days.

So glad this got bumped. Even if I posted twice... Luke deserves the recognition.

Post away people... Any good Luke stories? Parties?

I used to like some of his older productions

why did he stop producing?

Posted by Nobbie Q on Jan-07-2009 00:03:

I have nothing more to add...except that first disc of his Balance compilation was beyond perfection.

Posted by Nobbie Q on Jan-07-2009 00:05:

Yeah why did he stop?

Anyone remember that Mary J Blige remix? My friends who dont' listen to EDM even liked that one and it was a bootleg mix too.

and YO. Jas- Soul Doing Dishes (Luke Fair remix) is hype too! I opened up one my radio shows in november with that classic track.

He never really produced all that much and what little he did come out with was never that good.

Hes pretty much the last of the djs that got popular on djing alone and not production.

i don't have much to say that hasn't been said already. musically this night was perfect. started off nice and slow and ended with a bang. perfect progression of the night. the crowd was great. a little older and you could tell that everyone was there for the music.

i hope this night was recorded but it's been two weeks and we haven't heard anything about it so i'm assuming it wasn't .

2 weeks isn't bad.

Luke loves perfection. If it was recorded... I'm sure it will be a little bit before it comes out.

Wow, I'd say the complete opposite. His bootleg of U2's "silver and gold" is what got Bedrock's interest in the first place. Prior to being signed he was a resident of System's back room. His approach of putting forward quality tracks, remixes and edits garnered interest and respect from many in the scene and eventually led where he is now.

The U2 remix got digweed interested. Digweed took him under his wing and after that everyone else took notice. But thats only because digweed endorsed him. It didnt have anything to do with the music he made

Really good tune... Bedrock had a shitload of good stuff that came out around that time (Pole Folder's album, some Guy Gerber productions etc).
