Israel bombs Gaza...again.

Nothing like bombing the shit out of the oppressed while the world is distracted with the Christmas season. Congrats to Israel for sinking to new lows, even if they had to dig to do it. Fucking scumbag of a country.

Posted by Yohan on Dec-29-2008 02:52:

perhaps hamas shouldnt be launching rockets into israel?

ps: jews don't celebrate christmas. neither does the muslims

pps: both sides are wrong in this conflict

It's sickening..

I can't even discuss this issue any longer without getting seriously upset...it hits close to home for me..

Hamas withdrew the ceasefire, Hamas continues rocket bombing Israel. This terrorist organization was asking for it.

Here comes the Pallywood videos!

Is Hamas ever not pissed off? lol. srsly.

Hamas never stopped their rockets before or after the blockade.

I am sad for all the innocent lives on both sides. I'm sad that the military sites Israel bombed are so close to civilians. It's a sad strategy for hamas that unfortunately works, but sad for the innocents so far, and sad for the innocents that will blown to bits by the hamas-brainwashed suicide bombers that will be sent out in the next couple of weeks.

I hope it stops soon. I hope it stops now.

you guys are getting this all wrong.. the issue is far more complicated than your reasoning suggests.

I won't even pretend to understand the entire conflict...but I'll agree with both of those statements.

perhaps.

but looks to me that influencial hardliners on both sides want to win and get everything, thus continuing this conflict

its a one sided war man.

As Yohan mentioned, the constant rocket attacks are ridiculous and uncalled for. They got Hebron, and they still kept going because they decided they wanted more.

It's easy to say "oh look, Israel's terrible" but Sderot (one of the southern cities of Israel) has been getting 100s of rockets per day and a kid can't go to school without having to be prepared to run into a bomb shelter at the sound of an alarm. It's ridiculous. You want to talk about death to innocents? There is NO direction to these rockets that are launched, and the suicide bombings that come from over the border are aimed at the general public, not any military force.

I agree 100% that this situation sucks, for both sides, and there are things that Israel does wrong, I'm not defending or condoning those - but the current situation has been 100% called for by the ongoing attacks from Hamas on the southern cities of Israel. It's really unfortunate that civilians on both sides have to suffer, but what the Palestinians chose to elect is the epitome of what Israel (and really, the world) is against, and every time they get 'another chance' they mess up.

why? because Israel has tanks and fighter jets?
it would be a one sided war if it was a conventional war but it's not.

both sides are fighting dirty, forced by circumstances

only real losers are the people who got caught in the middle (and i'm talking both israelis and palestinians)

+1

I dislike the comparison of number of deaths, as opposed to number of attacks. You can leave people shattered by constantly launching rockets and scaring the crap out of the citizens, arguably it does *more* damage to a community than an individual death (I really don't feel like discussing psychological issues - let's not play the nitpick game please).

Some friends of mine were helping clean up some of these cities and had to run to bomb shelters while cleaning up - they live in trauma. I'm heading over to Israel in less than 24 hours and will be doing some of the same work in my time there; this is utterly disgusting behaviour on both ends, but to call it one sided and to put all the blame on that one side is complete ignorance.

Right and since when answering fire with fire ever solved any problems?

you really think by kiiling all these people in one day Isreal is gonna achive anything there? do you expect these people to just sit back and watch Isreal kill their families?

Perhaps you should look into the living conditions inside Gaza, these people live below poverty and Isreal blocks the flow of fuel and medicine to the people for the most part.Wouldnt you be fuckin frostrated if you lived in Gaza?

The people democractically voted and elected Hamas and there is not a damn thing anyone can do about it and the world should respect that.I thought you and your fellow Americans were all for Democracy?what happpend?

You start off by saying "don't fight fire with fire" but then you say "you expect people to sit still?" - you're simply contradicting yourself. Israel sat still for a LONG time, now they said "enough" and did something. You can only blame retaliation for so long.

I did not say at *ANY* point that I condone everything that Israel does. However, it seems when Gaza is given an inch, they decide they can take a mile. The way Hamas is running things is for big political show and pity.

You don't find this:

the least bit ridiculous? Come on.

The world respects that, they also have the concept of 'consequences'. It's not the first time Palestinians elect fanatical leadership. Enough of the silly personal attacks, it gets you nowhere.
