torq 1.5 is out...
for fellow torq users who dont know yet...m-audio has released torq 1.5
great update...the addition of tempo anchors (just like ableton warp markers), elastique time stretching, midi clock...great additions, just to name a few. could possibly compete with traktor imo, but knowing m-audio, they're going to half ass the marketing and it'll lay in the dust at some point in the future.
Ah I've been away from the computer for a few days... finally! Can't wait to download this and get going with it.
What exactly is the deal with Torq? What does it do that Traktor doesn't do already?
Nothing, but it only costs 200 bucks.

wow already! nicely done even though it was delayed like a year, haha
I really need to get a mixer with midi control to use with torq
you dont need a mixer with midi control to use torq.. most of the stuff you can do via external control. i personally have a trigger finger which is great for torq
I have been loving me some 1.5. Tempo anchors, and daisy chaining the effects have been some of my favorites thus far. Also to the above poster, I use a trigger finger as my only midi device, works real well. Unless you got the money and want a mixer with midi assignable features.
HOLY FUCK FINALLY!!!!!
Just installed teh update and wow!!!!! The Elastique timestretch feature is the coolest shit evah!!!!
Pitched Telefon Tel Aviv - You Are The Worst Thing In The World from 115 BPM to 133 BPM... WOW!!!!!! Its about time they used that Abelton technology! No artifacts or anything, smooth tempo adjustments
Autogain is nice but I turned that shit off.... I do really like the quick loop function improvements (Next bar, very nice, perfect loops every time), FX chaining is really cool, GREAT upgrade

My greatest gripe, the time stretching, is so much better now. Amazing.
i'm seriously contemplating buying this + some torq vinyl. so cheap, and it looks like it does the trick.
only thing i wish is that you could zoom in better to the waveform without it looking like a bunch of blocks for the tempo anchors...
Finally a good program to supplement my Xponent.
does m-audio/evlotion uc33e midicontroller works good with it? anyone knows? im considering getting the software.

I played with Dave Ralph last night, and he used this. Looked very very cool. I hadn't really considered going software until last night, but its definitely on my radar now.

I just got Torq LE with X-cession pro.
I'm lovin it, but I suck at DJing lol

| Originally posted by miamitranceman I have one and it works fine with Torq. The only thing to be aware of the buttons on the UC-33 are NOT like the pads on the trigger finger. That is, the buttons are not very good for triggering things like effects or loops within a precise and quick time period. Sometimes you have to mash the button 2 or 3 times before it registers. But the faders and eqs are great. On that note, you might consider a trigger finger as an alternative. It's still got a good selection of faders and knobs, Torq-wise. Hope that helps! |
