How Sony inadvertently helped a competitor and lost position in the videogame market.
Here is an interesting article based on a book that chronicles Sony's big mistake on letting the 360 have the advantages it has.

wow. that's pretty crazy. how could sony let that happen? surely they would have something in a contract or agreement that would stop ibm from working for their main rival at the same time, let alone using the research for the sony chip to help work on the microsoft one

Yea they both have many business relations in a lot of the different manufacturing departments. If this was a so called stab in the back to Sony, this would be a major lawsuit and be all over the tech news. I also can't see this hurting them actually, since the consumers don't give a damn, what chips are in what machines. They only want to know cost and game titles available.
