Super8 & Tab Artist Album

The Future: Miika and Janne are currently working on their debut artist album, scheduled at time of writing for release in the first quarter, 2009.

Please tell me that they're gonna spend more than 3 months making the album.

+1, looking forward to this though

They are probably my favorite trance producers right now, but this whole artist album scares me... people rush this crap all of the time. Hopefully they have been working on it under the radar for quite some time and now news of it's existence is surfacing. This could be great or again, disappointing.

i'm willing to give this a shot. they've put out a few tracks i've really, really liked, especially 'first aid' and (just as aalto) 'taurine'. so hopefully they don't rush this.

Trance artists shouldn't make albums. They always end up being 12 radio edits, hardly what I'd consider an "album".

Not always, but i know what you mean. A lot of producers seem to think it's a good idea to put out an album but they fail at creating something that is both an hour long and interesting.

Many times it also looks like this:

01 Generic downtempo intro
02 Generic trance track
03 ...
04 Generic trance track featuring rent-a-vocal
05 Generic trance track with breakbeat (omg-so-diverse edit)
06 ...
07 Generic trance track featuring another producer from the label
etc

^ that's actually scarily accurate. trance by the numbers, in album form! quick, edit that out before everyone on discover uses that template for their upcoming albums.

and i already took back what i said. i just heard their new release and it's completely generic and lacks so much creativity. lame.

Actually I'm pretty sure this has been in development for a while now, I remember hearing at the beginning of last year when Jaytech released his artist album that Super8 & Tab were already working on theirs.

Not saying that means this will be any good at all, but they are decent for trance producers so I might at least give this a listen.
