What would you do in this work-related situation?
So basically I have a pretty crappy part-time job at the moment. It is an acting school and I was hired to call leads in order to have them come in to the school to learn more. So I did that for a week, and then we had staff issues. At the same time we had a mall booth that needed people for another month or so. So somehow the company got the impression that I wouldn't mind working there, even though I have stated otherwise, and I eventually find myself working there up to 4 days a week.
So anyway, booth comes down and I'm back to calling leads. Thing is, we pretty much run out of leads and there's nothing left except for really old leads from at least a year ago. Keep in mind that I do not earn commission, so there is really no incentive for me to break my heard cold-calling people who don't know wtf I'm talking about.
Then the holidays rolled around and a bunch of people took off. For that one-to-two-week period of it being just me and three other employees who just don't give a shit, the general consensus was that you could do whatever the hell you want. That meant spending more time on the internet than anything on the days I was coming in.
Anyway now that the "office manager" came back she decided to be a real bitch, which is really fucking annoying because she's younger, has less education and work experience than me and is not far-removed from being a street punk. Only reason she's even remotly in charge is because she's been here for slightly longer. She doesn't even earn as much money as me working here.
So now there's basically no real work left to do, so she's trying to find bullshit old leads for me to sift through and call. Like I said there's no comission so the incentive really isn't there. On top of it all she's bitching that my hand writing is messy, even though the job never has me writing more than a person's name and their phone number.
Do I ditch and look for a job where I'll actually be needed, or do I take advantage of the relatively lax environment, cope with the little bit of shitty work there is and try to make the most of it? Keep in mind thatt his job isn't really giving me many hours either, and rather than getting another part-time job I'd rather look for a full-time one.
Pro Tip: Get a new job.
Pro Tip 2: Yell "Leeroy Jenkins" while leaving your old job.
Get a new fucking job.
Pro Tip 3: ON your way out piss into the water cooler and punch the bitch in the face.
Pro Tip 4: Take at least one ride on the office bike before quitting.
Get a new job, but don't quit the old one until you've found a new one. The job market just isn't safe enough to take a plunge right now.
Set the place on fire.
just deal with it. tell the bitch shes doing your head in. nearly all jobs out there have kunts working there

Look for a new job. If you get a good offer ask for a raise or commission. If they accept gratz. If they decline youll have a job waiting for you already. No matter how shitty your job is now you definately dont want to leave on a sour note.

yea always look for something first. unless it's a heat of the moment situation like that one time my former boss was screaming and cursing at me for no reason and i got up and told him to fuck off and walked out lol
he hired me back that same afternoon. sometimes u just gotta put your foot down and put people in check.
I'm not saying it was me or anything but whatever you do, DO NOT throw at stapler at your boss, yell at him for being a douche in front of the entire office, and then break a glass wall down with a karate kick. I would never do such a thing.

Glad to hear it... sounds like you're in a place where you can learn some valuable stuff, especially on the networking side.
yea for sure. i can't believe i worked for that dipshit before him for so long. i feel like a different person. i'm not nearly as stressed and cranky as i used to be.

Oh there's oother thing I forgot to mention: most people are under the impression that the company is a scam, consisting of con-artists. It's legitimate, but quite sneaky at the same time.
Wait so basically how it works is you get a list of leads (in plays? shows?) who you then have to call and try to convince to attend your acting school?
Wow, and I thought doing door to door charities sucked.
