Who else finds the Japanese girl annoying?

...In DJ Koze - I Want to Sleep

I forgave the track at first when I heard it so many times in mixes since I thought I should hear it live before I give a justified opinion to why the track is overhyped. Heard it at a NYE party at Zouk, Singapore played by a resident DJ and it still didn't get to me. It's just not danceable. Even for just chilling out the track is meh. The melody and rhythm are ok but it's just the voice. What's even worse is that the friends I brought now think I listen to weird music.

Do Americans and Europeans find the Japanese voice/accent sexy? Seductive? I don't. Maybe that might be since I live in Asia and hear that alot.

I just don't understand how it was the #1 track of the year. Maybe RA voters like these kinds of tracks. Mumbling Yeah is very similar to I Want to Sleep and it won last year's.

That's not japanese.
It's some other non-english language, but definitely not japanese.

What do you think it is then?

I know an accent when I hear one (unless they're baltic/eastern european accents), that's japanese. I can tell especially when she says "blah blah blah I Want to Sleeep" in a really fast way.

How could tihs track be number 1

I thought it was Turkish. I think this track is fuckin baller, never played it myself but I love hearing it out.

It's also definitely not tagalog since I'm filipino and it's definitely not.

It's also not malay, there's lots of malaysians here in singapore. I think it could possibly be indonesian.

i think it's korean. it's definitely not japanese or tagalog though.

It's track of the year based on a poll of RA contributors, a very small sampling of people. Not really indicative of much. I voted in said poll and it wasn't on my list.

That said, I love the track. Something about the way the groove is so settled, it just rolls along with the little creaks and cricket like sounds, and swallows you up. And then the vocal just appears out of no where to freak everyone out.

She stabbed the track to death and burried it on her backyard...

So go "inst" when the track plays and the problem is solved

Great track, the only thing I don't like is how the vocals come in really late. Most DJ's skip the first few minutes, I'd assume.

Thats exactly why it works. Just when you're almost like "ok, where is this shit going" that freaky vocal slams in out of no where...

If you ask me , i dont think it is really a japanese girl , but rather a indonesian / pinoy or a malay..

and YES!! it is irritating!! Sounds like a person ramdonly talking through the song..

And btw , TS im from singapore too!! Guess the trance scene in singapore is not really that bad?

And dont you think the song on this link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJEiYkWCHak sounds kinda over compressed or something... the volume seems to go up and down....
