hot track alert.... from JTeejie

I just came across a fucking gem, from a fellow Toronto DJ/Producer (James Teej).... check it on his myspace - nobody in the city is putting out music like this imo.

"Spending Life"

Awesome track! Good find. Its always good to listen to homegrown talent.

Respectfully, I don't the tune is anything too special.

It's not going to score points for 'bangin' that's for sure.... lol

But it's deep/groovy/eerie as fuck, and I'll go out on a limb and say it's the most original track I've heard from a Toronto artist, possibly ever.

lol wow....really...?

EDIT: before anyone goes bashing me...i really like this track..

Posted by 8Wonders on Jan-09-2009 04:15:

Honestly, I listened to it and I just don't hear/see/get it. I don't want to sound like I'm bashing, but there's nothing remotely remarkable about the record in any shape or form, from musical content to production value, that is of course my opinion!

Posted by jon jon on Jan-09-2009 04:15:

lol @ edit, but yeah I think the track is beautiful...

Posted by Vivid Boy on Jan-09-2009 04:20:

The vocals sound very U2'ish or The Cult' ish with a mix of the smiths and some tribal.

I Kinda like it.

I prolly won't listen to it again though

its the off key/off beat vocals that i kinda dig

Posted by Vivid Boy on Jan-09-2009 04:25:

anyways did a quick check to see if I was right about what I was saying, and its true. SOunds like he got the idea form the smith's and I like the smith's

Posted by Jer on Jan-09-2009 05:03:

Interesting tune, I'll give it that - Very laid back production, interesting chords, though I think a little overall sheen would have helped things. Still classy and well designed!

Posted by Owen M on Jan-09-2009 05:16:

I dig it. Moody and dark, but still soothing. I think 8 mins of the same thing with little to no variation get's really boring.

the other tracks on his myspace didn't catch my ear.

I'm really liking this remix he did though

Patrik Zigon Auttotude (James Teej & Patrick Bateman mix)
