What can you do to avoid teeth grinding?
And please don't say a soother.
I heard from someone once that a couple of magnesium tabs or something along the lines of that helps quite a bit.
I have braces, so the day (or week) after a roll for me is very painful, as I cut my mouth up all to hell.
Be a man and use a kids dummy.
coat your teeth in tinfoil, nobody likes to chew tinfoil!
I knew this would be hard

gobstopper...
talk to a dentist, they have a thingy that you put in your mouth to avoid grinding during the nights

It's not so much the lockjaw, its the wires and brackets cutting up your lips and inner cheeks, causing a TON of canker sores and brutal pain.
I've resorted to doing G as a substitute, but I like cranking it up a notch or so after a night of drinking and I hear it's quite dangerous to mix alcohol with G.
I do a pretty good job of f'ing my mouth up
the last time i bit my cheek really hard, twice.. thought "hey that didnt hurt.. weird".. sure did for the next couple weeks though that following day. Ended up with a cut on the bottom of my tongue too.. ahh well.. i just deal with it. I know its going to happen, and I still do it.. so i just suck it up.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I could totally use a martini right now. It's all about the Bombay Sapphire!
Too bad I'm still at work.
the cuts go away if you plaster wax all over your braces. The dentists/orthodontists have strips of clear wax you can put on them so they cant cut you. Then (this sux) you have to shell out 300 bucks for a night guard. But way better than sports guards. It clicks on and it hard under your teeth so its a good fit, and the under sit is a bitable surface. its awesome! and its clear! so you dont look like a fool hehe.
Wick. I've got an ortho appointment next Monday. I'll inquire then...
" ...Ummm yes doctor, would you kindly make me a night guard so that when I pop E I won't butcher the fuck out of my mouth? THanks!"
lol, just say you grind at night
i thought that's what pacifiers are for...
that wouldnt protect your gums from braces and this is a little more complete than a binky. and its clear so people dont know whats going on with you. Some clean chicks might be in there and not want to talk to a guy whacked out on E.

lol 5 years here. The only thing i can tell you is suck it up, it'll go away
Dudes... I first had brace in '92! Had them for 4 years, and this is my second time around. I'm getting prepped for orthognatic jaw surgery, where they will be breaking my jaw and extending it forward. I'm gonna have my mouth wired shut for 6 weeks waiting for it to heal after the operation.

it was mainly due to my orthodontist being a fuck head. I told him to take them off in the end. I think he was just playin me for cash. Hes like "you still need a lot of work" but I said bugger off, and everyone actually comments on how good my teeth are...weird
