yeah it was a great night. does anyone have the tracklistings for the sets played by all three last night??

they all had some amazing tracks in there =)

Posted by djdimensions on Jan-11-2009 21:14:

it was really awesome to meet some new tas and see some old faces. zencu was an awesome place to eat really cheap and great food. Gareth Emery tore up the roof as always except for when he played Marco V - Coma Aid and just stopped random. marcus played pretty upbeat stuff. my fav part of the night was when he played more than anything. i will post tracklist in an hour or so or what i have of it.

Peace
PS. We should do this more often.

lol yo dave saw your GF on stage we were doing the new markus airplane dance all night! lol..was a fun time for sure.

Last night was definitely a night to remember. I had a great time from start to finish!!

Thanks for organizing the TA meet at Zencu Jon. Not bad with those $1.75 beer specials. That was a lot of fun! We really should do those more often.

Gareth absolutely killed the place. That guy fuckin rocks and delivered one of the best sets I've heard in a while!! It was incredible when he dropped Off the World and Vampire. That guy has some talent for sure!!

Markus did a really good job as well. Better than the last couple times I saw him anyways!!

Kinda had a problem trying to bring my insulin in to the club for my diabetes though. Those guys at the door are assholes and told me to take it back to my car. I swear one night I'm gonna die at one of these clubs and these ******s are gonna be held liable. lol. Sry. Just had to blow off a lil steam.

Excellent night though!!! Can't wait for the next one!!

Haha, his new airplane move was fun, although in pictures it does look pretty wacky (especially when he doesn't smile doing it) so I had to delete those

haha, Ohhhh yeah, best night of all 4! Glad I got to hang out with some of you. SO much fun. THis was my fav weekend for sure!

Posted by jonmitz on Jan-11-2009 22:54:

It wasnt very packed, compared to how it normally is there. I could move around, unlike when Bank & Jones were there, and then bob sinclar (the last two times I have been to vanguard).

Parking is still $20 but I didnt care this time since I got my ticket for $10

Anyways, the TA meet went really well (except that Zencu is hard to find). Gareth emailed me a few minutes before 8 saying he wouldn't be able to make it, and markus also couldn't show up, but it was still a lot of fun. I'll make sure to do them more often, and next time I'll post directions to the correct parking structure.

I tried to arrange for a big Rukes picture right after Gareth's set, and tried to text everyone's number that I had, but it didnt work out too well. There were a few TAs, and I got Gareth to come down (he recognized me) and I can't remember who took what pictures, but Rukes took a couple (there werent many TAs there though )

After that I chatted with gareth and showed him around the club and then he let me go on stage and my expression was probably like it always is when I get to do that. For most of markus set I was up there just chatting with gareth, which was fun.

I've never stayed at vanguard until they close (I always get too tired/it gets too hot in there/too many people), so I was pretty surprised when at 4am the club was still packed.
I was actually standing under some huge air vent/fan that kept everything cooled off, so I don't know if thats a new thing or I just never noticed it.

I enjoyed Gareth's set more than when he was at ruby skye (at ruby skye, even with earplugs my ears were hurting), and I can't remember far enough back to compare it with his Lovefest 2007 set.

If you look at Ruke's pictures it seems like fewer and fewer people hold up their cameras/cell phones.

I remember that, I was standing next to gareth and his reaction was pretty funny, but I don't remember exactly what he did. :-/

edit: 20 TAs showed up to the meet

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember Gareth playing More Than Anything. I remember singing along to his remix of Martin Roth's Off The World. Which does sound similar to More Than Anything.

My Full Review :-) (Sorry for length)

The TA meetup at Zencu was awesome! Jon, you are the man!
It was nice to meet all the TA's that came. Kinda sucked that Gareth couldn't come to the restaurant last minute, but we had some great food with friends.

Got to the Hollywood around 10pm and found street parking a couple blocks away. Went in the side entrance (thanks Greg!) and saw Jon again and your gf? at the entrance. Made it to the front when Kristina was playing. Danced and texted some east coast TAs (Elyse and Sam) about Kristina playing a Randy Boyer track.

Then 2 asian chics and a guy asks me to take a pic of them and the next thing I know, my Gareth Emery CD is missing. My friend Greg and I chase after them and they claim they don't know about it and walk off. I notice a shiny square object protruding out of the guy's back jeans pocket and I follow him and realize its my CD! I grab it and he claims it's his friends' and I don't let go until we argue with him and he eventually lets go of it. Then my friend Greg and I start looking for the other TA's just in case the asian dude comes back with friends and wants some trouble.

We find our way back to the other TA's and the night gets better again as Gareth's set is off the hook. Then as we make our way to the front, guess who it is? The asian chics and their friends. So I switch places with GPC and avoid that group of asians like the plague. I continue dancing around with my reclaimed Gareth Emery CD and after Gareth's set start making my way to the TA pic with Gareth. I can't find my friend, so I kinda tag along with Jon and Gareth and we all get to go in the DJ Booth! Many thanks to Gareth for that!

Markus is on and i'm dancing and texting some east coast TAs (Elyse and Sam, again, lol) about Markus and leaving some nice voicemails, lol. Then Brainbox goes on and Greg, Michelle, Naomi? and I go singing along to the beat. Markus plays Another You, Another Me and everyone, including Gareth is WTF?

I had to leave early cuz my friend had to drop me off and he was tired, but overall I had a great time and thanks to all the TA's that I met - Jon for organizing and letting tag along when I couldn't find my friend, bscarbro, sweetcandy_girl (Michelle), GPC (Greg), in2musikk, the other TA's whose names I don't remember (sorry, I'm horrible with names), and especially Gareth for letting us in the DJ booth!

Rest of my pics, including some from Rukes:

P.S. - I need help tagging people in the pics!

Also, did the sound cut out on Markus' set too like it did on Gareth and Kristina Sky, or did they fix it?

Markus luckily didn't have it happen during his set. I know he was worried about it though! From the videos I've seen it looks like the whole stage went out, including the visual screens.
Gareth and I never did find out what actually happened.

On another note, I've just posted my set from Saturday for download in this other thread:
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...2&forumid=60&s=

But I'll post Gareth's here once he gets it to me.

Cheers!
