24 Season 7 Premiere: First Impressions

Well, the first half of the season premiere tonight was pretty crazy. And another two hours tomorrow at 8. Anyone else watch?

I don't like that guy Sean, though But I'm sure his story is gonna come out soon enough. He's one of those tech guys at the FBI office acting like he doesn't give a shit about his job.

the first 2 hours were a bit weak but will see where the show develops.

I think the first 2 hours were pretty weak too, compared to the previous seasons. the pacing is definitely slower, jack doesn't even appear much in the first hour. let's see where it goes.

lots of people thought season 6 wasn't good, so the show writers might be trying to change things up a bit this season. let's hope not..season 6 wasn't the best but I liked it

Well part 2 is tonight, so we'll see if that makes everything up!

I'll give it a 7 so far. Tony was never my favorite, so I'm eh about him being back. However... I figured Janeane Garofalo was taking Chloe's place, but now that they're both I can't wait for the inevitable sarcasm smackdown between them. Love that the family-fucks-everything-up part is resident with the first family and not Jack, for once. And is it me or does Bill look like an old Doogie Howser with that haircut?

Totally agree that James Morrison (Bill Buchanan) looks like Neil Patrick Thomas. Looks like Mary (Chloe) lost some weight.

I half way watched the two part premiere,... in and out of sleep etc. I want to get into the show but I know i dont have the time to devote to it every week, and once you get addicted theres no stopping.. i might already be addicted, I dunno....

Chloe is so hilarious, shes so awkward but so on point, perfect for the part or else she wouldnt be believeable.

Watching episode 5 now. Any thoughts thus far?

wish I had some thoughts to share but I'm abstaining from the rest of the season til it comes out on dvd next december. that's been the only way I've ever watched 24, I think it's worth it

from the first 4 eps I've seen this season, it's a bit of a disappointment..did it pick up any in ep 5?

Some interesting twists I thought in EP 05!

I have watched every episode since season 1, and the only reason I am watching this season is to keep the streak going. This show had potential to make it one of the best shows ever, but each season is just another terroist attack. I was really hoping there is a big plan that connects all the seasons together. They had there chance on season 3 and 4 and somewhat 5, but it just went down hill.

This season is a little better, it's kind of a fresh start, but we will see what happens.

interesting..as a 24 fan, I'm just curious what else you thought jack could have dealt with besides these attacks.
and what kind of big plan might have possibly worked to connect the seasons. maybe you have some points in there..

I am just getting bored of these terroist attacks, maybe they can find away to connect all the terroist attacks, and why they always involve jack. Maybe there is a larger group orchestrating all these attacks. I don't know I not the writer, lol, but the show needs more depth to it.

I hear what you're saying, but all these bad guys from each season had their own personal motives and agendas, there's no way they could have all been working for a singular mastermind. now that I think of it, there is actually a tiny ongoing connection in the seasons; it's that assassin from season 1 who also injected palmer, but she's just a freelance assassin. who's never been caught yet, lol.

also, the show revolves around ctu and we all know what that stands for, so that's what jack must battle all the time, and I'm one of those who's up for sitting back and enjoying that every season. something on a smaller scale, like some random guys kidnapping kim and jack goes on a rampage, wouldn't work for a full season, it has to be big. it's tough for the writers to satisfy everyone, I can imagine..I enjoy the show for what it is.
maybe you're just getting bored of the show, lol. you could maybe check out MI5 which is a british show some people compare to 24, although I personally can't sit thru an episode of it. and the star of that show is a dead ringer for pvd from a distance, lol

I've heard this season is intense & I've been reading nothing but good reviews about it, so my 1st impressions were definitely wrong...

when I get my hands on that 24 season 7 blu-ray set this december, it would be a treat indeed...

Welp, looks like next week is the 2 hour season finale to the series. I thought tonight's episode had a nice twist. And right before the season's end.

not bad at all. and the very next day after the season ends--it comes out on dvd!
that is too cool. this is the 1st time they're putting out the 24 box set so early, usually it's til december. and this is the 1st time they're putting it in blu ray too, another added bonus.
I'm in for a long treat..24 episodes in a row of kiefer kicking ass uninterrupted!
