Regulation changes:
* Massive aerodynamic regulation changes, with front wings being much larger, rear wings much tinier and higher, and all sorts of winglets have been banned. This is in order to facilitate overtaking.
* The front wing angle can now be changed by the drivers inside the cockpit twice per lap. Again, this is to facilitate overtaking.
* KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) is introduced. This is an optional system that charges energy, and then gives bursts of extra power, on the drivers demand, for a certain seconds every lap.
* Slick tyres are back.
* The engine rev limiters have been further downgraded to 18000 maximum revs.
* Testing has been cut back to a limit of only 10000 km.
* Testing is now forbidden once the season begins.
Bmw Sauber should be bomb.com this year.
Exited again for Mclaren but i am so tired of Kovalainen
I hope he gets replaced at the end of this season.

about the new ferrari: I hope they will not be the only team to exploit the deflector/ sidepod "ban"

Dennis steps down as McLaren team chief (CNN) -- Ron Dennis has stunned Formula One by stepping down as McLaren team chief ahead of this year's championship. Dennis masterminded Lewis Hamilton's title success last season. Dennis, who has been in charge of the British-based team since 1981, will hand over the reins to team stalwart and current chief executive officer Martin Whitmarsh. He made the shock announcement at the launch of McLaren's new MP4-24 car which the team hope will power Lewis Hamilton to a second straight world title. Dennis, who groomed Hamilton for Formula One stardom, said he would stand down on March 1. "It's absolutely time for Martin to take over the job of team principal, so as of March 1, Martin will adopt that position," he told Press Association. "I will still go to races -- not all of them -- because I am still passionate about Formula One. "But don't see this as a form of retirement. It's very much the opposite because I will now be working harder in other areas. "I will now take on more responsibility, greater responsibility, in certain key areas of the group," added Dennis who will stay on as executive chairman of McLaren. Dennis' shock news came after Britain's Hamilton delivered given the thumbs up to the new car and outlined his hopes of retaining the title he won in such dramatic fashion in the final race of last season. "I don't see the fact that I am world champion will add to the pressure on my shoulders for next season," said Hamilton. "I've obviously a little bit of extra confidence and I've reset my goals, reset my targets back to when I started out in Formula One and that's to be world champion." Hamilton's title win last season was McLaren's first since 1999 and came the season after the team were fined a record $100 million in Formula One's "spying" scandal. He paid his own tribute to Dennis in reaction to the announcement. "Ron is a huge part of the team," said Hamilton. "He has racing in his blood, so he will never leave. He will always play a part, and I will always remain close to him. "I've known him since I was 10. We have a great relationship, and he has made a huge impact on my life - and he still does today - and we are great friends." E-mail to a friend | Mixx it | Share |

this season will be amazing.

they should make movies
McL looks even more like shit thn other years
Hooray for slicks!!!
I'm willing to give all of the new regs a chance, except for stupid KERS. I think that they will all enhance the racing.
The giant front wing will solve the understeer issues that plagued past seasons when drivers complained they couldn't get close enough. They look stupid. But hey, if they work, I'm all for it.
Slicks, there's no logical argument against them. The argument before against them (cars are too fast) is stupid because these are racing cars designed to go fast. They only served to reduce the grip and lead to lack of passing.
Kers? Stupid. Any trickledown in technology won't find it'sway into road cars for decades and not in it's racing form. Compare this to racing innovations of the past (disc brakes, anti-lock brakes, DSG gearboxes - Porsche 964 Group C car!!, traction control etc etc) and I just can't see the link especially when they're looking to cut costs. Why add cost & complexity when you're loking to cut costs?!?! Bernie and Max are both senile, as proven by Bernie and his olympic medals plan for finishing places.
All in all, I think it will be an exciting season for several reasons. We have no idea who will "get it right" and then, who will get KERS "right" once teams start to introduce it.
hell, I don't even know who I'm cheering for yet? I really want to see BMW successful.

I'm reaching the conclusion that these cars' looks really depend on the angles you look at them. From certain angles they look perfectly normal, even awesome. For example, I really like this pic of the Toyota:![]() The McLaren looks quite nice too: ![]() And the black paint makes the Ferrari look fantastic from a top view: ![]() But then this angle makes it all look seriously wrong as you notice how high the rear wing is: ![]() The anvil wing isn't popular around here neither, although I don't really mind it that much: ![]() Overall I don't know really. I'm getting used to them but then on certain photos it seems like they will never look right. At least they still look like F1 cars, which is the most important thing. That first interim BMW looked like an oversized baby formula car instead. |

I hope they change the end plates on the front wing
That Renault chop is great. Their colours are awful.
A few more thoughts after the latest car releases:
-anyone can win because of the major design and package changes
-KERS is fucking stupid but the teams were forced to spend tons of development money on this while they are trying to cut costs.
-Bernie is getting senile. He's also saying that the teams deserve less of the F1 payout money since it's apparently better off in his pockets.
KERS was already under development when they introduced cost cutting. Abandoning it would be wasteful.

Absolutely agree about BMW looks.
Disagree about KERS, F1 needs to show more environmental initiative, and KERS is a good way to do it ( although it should be mechanical KERS, not the battery one )
I hope Massa takes it this year.
