-- US Airways goes down in the Hudson River...

US Airways goes down in the Hudson River...

Airbus A320 with 155 ppl on board went into the river with no fatalities and no major injuries...

PPl said they saw it go into a flock of geese which took out the engines...

The Captain said that they were going down and for the paasengers to brace for impact...

He then performed a perfect, textbook, emergency water landing in 0 degree water...

My hats off to the crew of this plane for doing a perfect job and saving everyone on board...

My terrified-of-flying BF is flying back from New York today. He's gonna love this.

I don't get how it doesn't sink. Did it sink yet?

I was watching it on Daily Planet while doing homework so I didnt catch everything... but...

Something happens to prevent water from entering the fuselage. So since the plane isnt filling up with water maybe thats why it hasnt sunk.

- sorry I should have paid more attention

Honestly it makes me feel safer in planes.

To know that the pilots and crew can safetly handle a situation like this.

The key to this was that they landed the plan level to the water.
And props to the flight attendents for keeping the passengers so calm.

Luggage compartment is sealed which helped to keep it afloat for a while but....

The plane did sink at about the 1 1/2 hr mark after it hit...

I did just see that they had it partially out of the water and tied to a dock so I guess they got it up...
