Monkey Dancer 2 Rollercoasters

http://www.picpodium.com/members/ac...hit_your_pants/

Do you like them?
Which amusement parks do you prefer?
Do you have great parks or attractions in your country?
Which ones would you like to do?

Yes
Six Flags, CA and Cedar Point, OH
No
Top Thrill Dragster @ Cedar Point

The best I've been to is probably Tatsu at Six Flags in LA and the roller coaster on top of the 'New York, New York' hotel in Vegas.

Thunder Mountain Disney World, Orlando...OMG I DIE!!!

Posted by CONNERMAN2000 on Jan-16-2009 17:23:

I hated rollercoasters as a kid, but of course that has changed. Many hate that stomach drop feeling, but for me, I think its the lack of control. If I sat in the front and I was, say, "driving" the rollercoaster, I would have probably had a blast.

It's all the same to me now, though. Haven't been on one in a little while now that I think about it.

My personal fav...

The Viper - Six Flags, Gurnee Mills, IL

That's the best pic I could find, and who knows if it still exists, seeing as how I haven't been to Six Flags Gurnee, IL in a long time.

All wood, very old fashioned, and fast as fuck. There's a point where its actually dangerous to put your hands in the air since the tunnel is so narrow.

That one is good for stomach evacuations.

not really, but it is a sickening thrill when i'm on one i suppose. kingda ka at six flags great adventure is ridiculous.

the loop is a quarter mile from the loading area. you're travelling upwards of 100 miles an hour in under three seconds, on the track in the foreground, go up the loop and spiral 270 degrees. then you come back and hit the speed bump on the way back. all this is in under a minute. it's sick.

did that the year it came out. If you rode it before you can agree with me the scariest part is waiting until you hear the blow horn.

It typically makes it over the top peak but sometimes not

nothing tops nitro!!

I love roller coasters.

We have a few parks in Canada with the 2 main ones being La Ronde ( which is part of Six Flags now) in Montreal and Paramount Canada's Wonderland in Ontario. Wonderland just got this ride called the 'Bahemoth', it's pretty bad ass but there are a shit of better ones in different parks that I'd love to tackle.

I don't have a favorite yet. And I'm dying to go to Cedar Point.

Best one I've ever rode in for sure.

edit: fastest (128 mph) and tallest (456 ft) of the world, for those wondering.

yeah i rode KDK once, and that was enough lol. i was timing the sound of the water pumps and the horn so i was ready for the initial acceleration. it's CRAZY how fast you arrive at the climb! you're just starting at it in the distance then you're suddenly going up.

I hate roller coasters. I can't handle the stress of riding one. I might jump out of an airplane though.

Posted by FallingMoon on Jan-16-2009 21:10:

I fuking LOVE rollercoasters!!! The faster & bigger the better my all time favorite park is Bush Gardens in Tampa!!!

I am DYING to go to Six Flags, the bf & I plus some friends are going to make a trip like during the next holidays since this past NY's we spent in Orlando for Islands & MGM [which suck in comparison to Bush Gardens]

But yeah DYING to go to six flags for that rollercoaster that is like 400+ feet and goes like 128mph I always forget the name lol

*edit - ha just saw the pic up there, it's the kingda ka. SIIICK!

Posted by raveed on Jan-16-2009 21:28:

Kingda Ka is mad thrills but the whole experience is to short. IMO Nitro at the same park tops Kingda Ka by a miles.

Heres a neat video of Kingda Ka. Fastforward to 50 seconds which is when the ride takes of.

precisely

It used to have the signs how high you were(i.e. niagara falls, pyramid) before the first drop but they removed it

my mates and I did that when we were smashed one night, good fun.

'Desperado' in Primms isn't bad either.

Haven't been to too many parks in the US so I can't compare to much though.

I went to Cedar Point no joke...17 times this last summer.

Magnum, Max Air, Maverick, Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, and Raptor....best coaster collection in one park. Plus Lake Erie is tight to look at.

Kingda Ka is a coaster built in a parking lot. But I guess slamming in to the pavement at 456ft is a rush.

How is this for a rush

I love them, but theres no theme park in Ireland so I have to go without

that shit is too sick....definitely worth the extra wait for front too

I love them, but there are no good ones in the UK. After I visited Florida I found out I just didn't find any British coasters fun anymore, because American ones are so much better.
