Thumbs up notorious

Saw this last night it was pretty pretty pretty good. A little long but whatever. The girl that played lil kim was naked pretty much any chance she could get on camera. Already knew all the story and shit but it was a good watch. It also helps if you see it in the most ghetto theatre available... helps with the whole ******ish atmosphere. I give it a ***.5/*****

i want to see it too, but i will wait for the dvd to avoid the black people screaming at the screen that somehow think their words will change the plot.

`no biggie, no biggie, don`t go you goan get shot nigga!

Lil' Kim didn't like the fact she was portrayed as a whore in the film. No one has given her the memo that she is a whore in real life.

Posted by chach on Jan-17-2009 21:48:

Well they did pump 5 gallons of semen from her stomach once

And lol elfreak that's what made it great I can't count the amounts of time some nigg yelled out one lol worthy one was "fuck west side" I lold and yelled out "go back to 95"

Hence why she didn't want to be one in the film. It's called acting.

i went to premier @ muvico in boca last weekend to see unborn and it reminded me of why i don't like going to the movies. even in the premier section, we could still hear all the little immature fuckwads screaming and laughing and talking during the movie.

so yea i'll wait till it's on video but i do wanna see this

saw in the theater - and it's probably the best movie i've seen in a while. I'm not a fan of movies about rap either (8 mile was OK in my book), but this one was just great. The lead actor does a great job.

Couple of questions about the plot though. Was the Kim & Biggie relationship real? Is that how they started, or was it made up to e up the plot? Also - when biggie performs Party & Bullshit at the Apollo, did that really happen? I've never heard that he performed at apollo when he was just trying to come up.

Their relationship was real.

Looking forward to this.

I honestly cannot believe the amount of positive reviews in here. Myself and the four other people that I saw it with (two of which are huge Hip-Hop/Biggie fans) all thought that it was an utterly terrible movie. Let me put it this way:

It's the same basic story that everybody already knows

Nothing more, nothing less. I can orate the entire movie in about fifteen seconds and can probably do a much better job of acting than most of the people in that film. The lead actor was good but I wouldn't go far beyond that. Everybody else was terrible, and the guy who played Puffy was a douche (though that parallels how much of a douche Puffy actually is in real life, so it's forgivable).

In regards to the story itself? It's almost as though it didn't even look deeper into the story than what the writers might've heard through word of mouth. The whole feud lacks any and all substance, and Biggie getting shot was over and done with in a matter of moments. Also, the way they incorporate lines such as, "I love it when you call me Big Poppa," are utterly terrible.

To those of you who haven't seen it, I thoroughly recommend that you don't waste your time. What do I know, though?

You must have been in a bad mood before you watched it or something.

I thought the movie was one of the best movies I've seen in a while, and the actors were phenomenal. The kid who played Biggie as a kid is actually his son in real life. The writers did a lot of interviewing and research for that movie. I saw a video of Faith Evans where she talked about what she thought of the movie, and she said she was shocked at how real it was, especially the actor who played Biggie (can't be bothered to find that video right now).

But then again, my opinion might be biased since that kind of music was a big part of my life all through out high school. In fact, after Tupac and Biggie died, that's when rap & hip hop went downhill, imo.

No, I was in a great mood all day and went into the movie expecting it to be at least pretty good.

That's cool and all, but that doesn't necessarily make the film itself any better because of it. Hell, I could've been in the film and still thought it was terrible.

To me, it really didn't show at all. There was little or no substance to the film beyond the parts that everybody already knows. Everything outside of that was vague at best.

as a biggie fan, I liked it. only issue is that the papa doc actor was absolutely jokes as tupac, and they had BIG gunned down far too quickly.
