a lot of old tracks i've found (90's) seem to be higher quality as well

Posted by woscar on Jan-18-2009 17:57:

Definitely, just noticed that today while shopping for new music

They are, it's part of their Beatport 4.0. The samples went from 64 kbps to 92 kbps.

Posted by jupiterone on Jan-18-2009 18:39:

well, it's noticeable but the bass quality is still rather shit

It certainly is, but at least they have moved in the correct direction.

samples aren't instantaneous anymore for me, i'm in australia. i'm thinking they need to work on their servers.

it's very annoying clicking and having to wait for a sample to load, takes me forever to browse for stuff now

i find it funny how 5 of the 10 tracks in the top 10 have blatantly uncleared/unlicensed samples from really popular songs.

Not half as funny as the fact that people actually buy that dogshit.

Ya the top 10 is shit. I can't believe that horrid sample of the amazing "Lady" by Modjo. Seriously what is the point in taking a sample like that and using it to build up a track into nothing but boring bass?? I don't understand the thinking behind tracks like that.

Oh and yes, higher quality tracks, but extremely slow load times for me.

Posted by humilis on Jan-19-2009 06:54:

I thought they were just another (crappy) remixes from old tunes

Posted by DJ Blitzkrieg on Jan-19-2009 07:57:

Wow, the top ten is horrid but what is the guitar sample from on We Fucked You Up? Maybe it's just me but it sounds oddly familiar.

Seriuosly, I cant stand the fuckin tracks that have a huge buildup and ten break down itno some shitty kick and bass that sounds like every other generic beatport top10 track /drunk

It's an international rule that you can't preview tracks for longer than 2 minutes or else you have to pay royalties for that
DJDownload has cleverly found a way to overcome that and as of wednesday Beatport is also implementing the Kompakt MP3 solution to overcome it
