Mixer / HUI Question

I have my d8b working in HUI mode in Cubase 4. I cant seem to access any of the features on my monitor when in HUI mode as it says 'offline'. However my faders, pans, sends etc all still work albeit with no visual aid on my screen. Does anybody know where i'm going wrong or how to get my mixer 'online' like this picture?

How have you got it set up?

In Cubase 4 open the Device Setup window, add the Mackie device, and set the input and output ports to specify the MIDI ports to which you've connected your Mackie Control on the MIDI interface.

You can also use a midi map to control cubase and you porbably want to make your own preferences for control cubase.

Like so:

As I remember, if you need to use HUI emulation, MTC is only supported on channel 1, so make sure you have no midi conflicts.

Can you explain a bit more? you're saying the D8B affects the audio but Cubase does not show any data changes on screen? Is automation data being recorded by Cubase when altering perameters (i.e. levels) on the d8b?

have you got the HUI listed in the Cubase devices list? or do you have a mackie specific device listed?

EDIT: HERE"S YOUR SOLUTION RY.

It's a biggie but read this thread in it's entirety and it will tell you how to configure your Cubase and D8B to sing to each other. There's also a link to a map for Nuendo (which will be fine for cubase). Other than this, make sure your interface is not fucking things up and your cables are correct. Also make sure no midi filtering is on within cubase. Basically you're better off mapping the whole thing via midi as hui will only send for 8 channels and midi can map the whole thing.
