Detox
Anyone else a dre fan??
Chronic? Chronic 2001???
I'm actually going to have a hip hop discussion in here because some dre just found its way in my ear and it got me thinking...
So Dre is going to drop detox this year. his last and final album and I totally feel bad for the guy.
I read somewhere he didnt want to do the album
and i totally see why
i mean chronic 2001 was amazing, and probably would have been the best way to end his career on that high of a note.
However, all the people on aftermath and shady records are forcing hi to put out one more album. and i feel bad for the guy, all those shitty artists signed to his label are all going to want a verse on it. 50 cent obie trice gunit, all those crap artists (if u can call them that). ANd he's going to have to put them on to promote them, and he knows theyre shit, thus making detox the biggest let down since the long anticipated gun n roses album (actually not big of a let down we all knew it was gonna be shit).
feel bad for the guy. i truly do. almost a perfect career, almost.
i dont feel sorry for rich people.
chronic was a sick cd tho
i have audio evidence that he's reneged, he already committed to giving rap back on the condition we all contributed towards a platinum plaque and moreover we provided him with six. for physical evidence to supplement this you'll probably find them hanging in the office at the back of his house like trophies.
i'm still excited to hear it but it'll be hard to follow up with the same quality given the pedigree of artists collaborating on this one compared to Chronic and 2001.

pre 2000 Dre > post 2000 Dre
It almost seems like Dre is putting together a list of some of the more popular names in the game right now. Will it work, im not so sure. He should have kept it old school and it would have been a success for sure.
Believe it or not, "Chronic 2001" defined an entire era for me.
One of my favourite hip hop albums for me after 36 Chambers... lol.
BUT, having said that, there comes a time when artists and musicians should just put a cork in it... it's not "cool" anymore when the time has passed and they're trying to be 20-something again.
I'm just saying.

| Originally posted by Vivid Boy i hear that. its true. thats why he "says" he doesnt want to put out the album. but truthfully i think it has to do with what i said too. and truthfully if dre could pull out alot of great mcs for the this last album i would have mind hearing a 40 something rap especially if it was a pioneer like dre. I mean hell I still get pumped up when I hear Rakim drop something new and hes ollder then dre. but the fact is there will be no rakim on detox, there will be no cube, there will be no legendary west coast rappers. West Coast sound is practically dead |
yeah dr.dre having to do tracks with 50 cent is a travesty
