Q6600 or Phenom?

Hi guys,im about to buy a new Pc equipment, and i wanted to know which one of these processors(Intel 2 Cuad 6600 or Phenom X4 9950 BE)i should get,since im looking forward to getting more serios with production.

So which one should i get? / Are these even OK or would i need to get a better one? Ive been through tomshardware and stuff alot but there nver says "if you are looking to produce music with your computer, these are perfectly fine"

Both cpu's are much very much alike in terms of performance & speed.

well most audio software writers tend to write/favor/recommend the Intel chipsets, though AMD makes fine CPU's and I'm partial to them. I have had no issues whatsoever with an AMD machine for production work. It really shouldn't matter, so go with whatever fits the budget.
