Academy Awards nominations out!

LOL... The Curious Case of Benjamin Button got 13 nods. I mean, it was cool but 13?? It wasn't the Godfather or Schindler's list for god's sake.

For those who haven't seen it, here's a quick look at "The Curious Case of Forest Gump"... check it out this is pretty funny.

" It's exactly like Gump, except no AIDS"...

lol that vid was mildly humerous.

Yeah I did see the similar comparisons between "Forrest Gump" and "Benjamin Button". Then again, we're talking about the same screenwriter who wrote both movies, so no one can claim hack here. Still, yeah similar situational line, and both good movies. I am questionable about the 13 nominations, and also questionable about Slumdog Millionaire's 10 nominations. Oh well. That's the Academy for you, eh?

I watched benjamin button the night before NYE and it totally killed my buzz. I mean, it's good, but jesus fuck people need to calm down.

Parts were about as cliche as it gets...

Milk was the best film I saw in 2008.

A bit surprised the actors from 'Slumdog Millionaire' aren't nominated.

I think Benjamin Button is a good movie. Not amazing, but definitely good.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Jan-22-2009 23:50:

Yeah. I have this odd feeling people love to push the "great" button nonstop. :/

haha yeah man my wife slept through half of Benjamin Button because it was too slow and buzz-killish for her to enjoy. I have a better appreciation for movies than she does anyway. That being said, I really want to see Milk but I can't get over my rabid hatred for Sean Penn to contribute to his movies lately. Stupid I know, because he is a hell of an actor (except when he went for the retard "I want an Oscar" role in I Am Sam).

I don't think he will ever top Milk. You aren't watching Sean Penn, you're watching Harvey Milk. It's amazing. Some of the finest acting I have ever seen in my life.

Milk was fantastic, I'd say it's between Slumdog, Frost/Nixon and Milk. Although I haven't seen The Reader yet (screener is sitting on my table, I just don't care enough )

I think it's amazing that Robert Downey got Best Supporting Actor for Tropic Thunder
