-- Speakers?
Speakers?
Do you realy need speakers to mix? Cause I'm getting some decks soon and I will have access to speakers but not all the time. Can I still mix without the music loud?
erm.. how else wud u get 2 hear vinyl??? the little sound which the needle makes?
u NEED speakers.. otherwise u cant hear music
Sorry for al those pedantic people I forgot to mention Ill still have headphones like all DJs do!
Right, what has just been said is a complete misguidance.
You DO NOT need speakers to mix
All mixers have a headphone outlet that lets you hear different sections of the mixer, eg chan 1/chan 2/chan 3/overall mix
I sometimes don't use the speakers when I am the only 1 up on the morning because I can't wake ppl up or at nite time, plus u don't wanna be blastin out trainwrecks really really loud when you first start.
In short, speakers are good, but u don't need massive fukkers.
Beleive me, you will crack up after two days of head phone mixing...My amp blew before and i was depressed for weeks because of head phone mixing, he he

Yeh but im a begginnner so will it be ok? Cause I can use speakers most of the time? I was just wondering if it is possible to mix without them and just headphones.
oh jeah.. forgotten u can also listen tru the headphones
jeah.. i cud recommand mixin thru speakers.. it just gives u an nicer feel when ur music is played loud! ( i haven`t mixed yet but i allways play music loud)
the louder the better
It's better to hear your transitions in fones to start with IMO as you can hear what is right and wrong, also which way to correct yourself is much improved through headphone mixing, plus my speakers point away from me now I'm good so that the audience hears and not me, all I get is bass

Well you should be able to mix only in your headphones, but It depends on what mixer you got.
My old POS Gemini Mixer only had a split cue, so I just tied into my comp speakers since I havent ot enough money to buy the amp/speakers I want yet
