COR, recommend me a phone!
Hey guys, my crappy cell phone finally died on me and I really want to get a nice smartphone this time.
I've been looking into several Nokia N-Series phones like the N81, N86, N96, and the N95. I really like the design on those and they have pretty much all the features I would like like Wi-Fi, GPS, and big storage capacity. The camera isn't really that important for me, as I already have one
Apart from these, which ones do you recommend? Have you used one of the models I've mentioned? What can you tell me from those Nokia models from experience?
Thanks!
iphone
Oh, and I forgot to mention I don't want an iPhone. I already have a 160GB iPod so I really have no use for it.

Anything but an iphone
But seriously now, i've dealt with the n96 and n95 8GB and even though the N95 is the older model I would go with that one. The N96 just feels like it would fall apart if something really hard,...like a leaf falling from a tree would hit it. The N81 feels a bit to cheap as well, because of its design some of the buttons are a bit hard to press, which at least to me is a huge disadvantage.
Out of the ones you mentioned i would go for the N95 8GB, but if you dont have your heart set on an N series phone, you should take a look at the E series devices. Games may run a bit slower tnan on N series phone that have a special graphics chip in them but everything else works much better. I use an E71 and i coundt be happier with it.
Or you could buy something cheap now, and wait until the N97 comes out in a couple of months time. That should be a great device.
iphone really is brutal.
id go with a crackberry.
sony ericsson c902
I would love to say Google's phone because of its open source background. The restrictions on third party applications really makes the iphone limp to me. But the Google phone doesn't have the same amount of apps really. And the second revision is coming out anytime I hear.
Iphone is a complete money gouge, $39.99 for like what 450 minutes with rollover...$20 for unlimited text, $30 mandatory data plan, like $5-10 insurance. Then go buy a bunch of applications and suck off Apple some more.
+1 on the N96 being a POS, N95 is much better.
I vote for Sony C905 or Xperia X1, or the LG Secret or LG Renoir

Everyone slates iPhone.
Buy one, you won't regret it.
Yes they aint open source, but they have applications gallore.
iPhone's main points of interest:
- More powerful processor than a PSP.
- Most advanced touchscreen device on the planet.
- Smooth as sex to the touch.
The bad:
- Shit camera
- Hate from people who think Nokia still rules the roost.
I have the Blackberry Storm and i have to say i love it. When it came out it really was a POS. I was just about to throw it against the way. Now it is alot better. Alot better, but not perfect. I'm sure RIM will get it right soon though.
Blackberry Curve suits me fine.
Samsung Innov8 is pretty sweet.

Loads of apps, most of which are pointless self-masturbatory things that just 'show off' the acellerometer and such, serving no functional purpose. If I had to pick a phone of similar dimensions, Touch HD every time. The iPhone is great for the average punter though, which is why it is successful (along with the Apple brand). |
iPhone cause its one of the cheapest smartphones and u can hack the hell out of it...and never have to buy an app if u have half a brain and read a bit to install proper software.
palm pre
Nokia 5120

And holy shit, the N97 is absolutely gorgeous in every aspect. I might just have to wait til that one comes out
