Paul Oakenfold- Southern Sun (DJ Tiesto Mix)

I'm obsessed with this track...it's so beautiful and it really is what trance should be. Tiesto is a master producer and once again he has made me very impressed. This is the official track of the summer for me and like most of Tiesto's remixes as well as original productions, I dont think its gonna wear out. Thanks to Paul Oakenfold for writing those sweet vocals too! I was starting to lose hope in ol' Oakey but that's a completly different thread.

the Unreleased Tiesto Mix is better because of the vocals order.

and also some sound like in Dutch... ?

Many Greetings,

f0x

Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (DJ Tisto's 'In Search Of Sunrise' Mix)

Solar Stone Chillout Mix is the best.

...but Tiesto's Remix is really good. the unreleased remix should be release in a snap!

thats good that you can hear the vocals because i dont understand a word she is saying in either of the mixes.

i dont like this way to overplayed.

Posted by nrjizer on Jun-10-2002 06:31:

Heh, I heard southern sun (not the tiesto mix) blasting out of an Abercrombie store on Saturday

Posted by Dave_Masters on Jun-10-2002 06:31:

I like the tune, just not the amount of threads lol

Posted by ampburner on Jun-10-2002 08:39:

G&D remix 00wnz you !!

Posted by escee on Jun-10-2002 09:46:

I dont like the G&D mix, the vocals seems out of place, and its too simple, I understand the focus is on the lyrics, but, it just doesnt do too much for me. The tiesto mix on the other hand

Posted by Slice on Jun-10-2002 09:54:

Gabriel & Dresden is definately the best remix of this tune!

Paul Oakenfeld - Southern Sun

piece by piece
i release
once was mine
now undone
turned blue like New
Orleans
and went down like
a southern sun
i still feel you
beneath my skin
im tempted
to throw my senses in
'cos its easier to drown
then to find somewhere ******* southern sun
where your love is all around

and went down like
a southern sun
i still feel you

you last like a song
i'm deflated
i am pieces on the wind
unrelated
i still feel you
beneath my skin

sorry fox but it isnt and never was called this. i was speaking to tiesto for about half an hour on the 2nd and i asked him then. he said hed never heard such drivvel before, adn laughed a bit. he said the one he plays is just an alternative versio that he made originally, but then re-arranged the vocals and the newer version became the perfecto release. however he still seems to play the original version. the in search of sunrise remix was set to be made , but never made it. perfecto asked him to make one but it never went through instead, solar stone have made another remix of the track entitled "solar stone after hours mix". this follows on from there original remix entitled "solar stone chillout mix", which is a little more ambient. both of these mixes will be availible on a very rare and limited 3rd 12" of the official perfecto release, called the "chilled mixes", whic is released today! hurrah!

The vocals are a bit too bellowing and Bjork-ish for me. And is it me or is this song kinda s-l-o-w? It sounds like the BPM's are at about 128-130. (?) Its allright tho, just nothing groundbreaking IMO.

its my opinion.

its shit.

because

its nothing new.. its all been done before

i cant see the fascination with this at all.. its bog standard tiesto.. same old bassline.. poor vocal content and standard trance riff.

The original mix is DECENT but its not the best..

no wonder Paul Oakenfold and Paul van Dyk both have said its shit.

i share their opinion.

this is correct

it was never called ISOS remix its just 'Tiesto remix' ... the first polished remix he did Oakey did not like which is why he had to do another one or he would not have got it released.

i can't be arsed 2 argue with you agen, coz u don't seem 2 know wot ur talkin about. but i think its not shit, i think tiesto is picking up his act, and ur only sayin its shit because pvd did imo the vocals are too loud though, but the tune is reasonable quality and better than the tiesto shit of late.

Posted by Floorfiller on Jun-10-2002 15:50:

i still like the song. i know people have a problem liking it because they think its too comercial and i'm sure we got a lot of rebels out there that don't like whatever is popular, but its a good song non the less. since you guys brought it up... what is the official release time of the track? i still always just find different radio rips on AG. i'm sure this has been posted on an earlier thread, but it would take hours to find it in all the Southern Sun threads hehehe.

you really are full of shit.

dont try and tell me i dont know what im talking about.

i know a few people who heard tiesto play this live at GK a few months back and they went on and on and on and on about it.. then when a rip became available they went on and on and on again.. i listened and imo its total toss.

this was the first tiesto remix btw..

it was months later before PvD took the piss out of it..

get a clue and get a grip.
