Favorite track at least 11 minutes?
So I'm just going through some music on my computer and got to listening to some really long tracks and when done right these tracks can be really enjoyable from start to finish without sounding dragged on. I thought it might be a good idea to look into more of these just because they can be quite fun to listen to.
Here's my top 3 tracks of 11 minutes or more:
1. Sunday Club - Eterna's Flight 13:22
Most people will have heard this as it was posted on this site years back. A trancer alright, but goes through about 3 different theme and save the best for part for around last.
2. Kirsty Hawkshaw - Fine Day (James holden Mix) 11:24
A fairly simple track in typical James Holden style, but he makes the second build up a bit different so the track feels like it just keep on moving slowly all thoughout.
3. Sarah McLachlan - World on Fire (Junkie XL Mix) 11:33
This song could be more like 9 minutes, but instead goes to one more build-up but without the main melody which seems to explode all the emotion in the vocals that have been building.
Blue Amazon - And Then The Rain Falls
Bedrock - For What You Dream Of (well, almost 11 minutes)
Sugar Hill Gang - Rappers Delight

modular 1
Shpongle-And the day turned to night
In the thread on twisted forums about which track to show to people first to get them into shpongle, Simon Posferd posted that as the one. Absolutely amazing track.
Some of the tracks on cybernetika's latest album were 11 minutes.
On top of the head:
California Sunshine - Summer '89
Blue Planet Corporation - Lubiantia
Electric Universe - One Love
and many ambient works along side...
Everything But The Girl - Wrong (Deep Dish Remix) 12:01
Grace - Not Over Yet (BT's Spirit Of Grace) 12:25
Spicelab - Falling 17:58
Choice - Acid Eiffel 13:33
Lemon Interupt/Underworld - Dirty 11:13
Dream Theater - Octavarium
Choice - Acid Eiffel
Ralph Falcon - The Dig (Radioslave remix)
X-Press 2 - Kill 100 (Radioslave remix)
and there's probably more but I don't feel like trudging through my cd wallets.
Choice - Acid Eiffel
Dune - Desert Storm/Will I Dream/Endless This is another Garnier/Dardoufas project
Skintrade - Shapeshifter
Pryda - Aftermath (Original Mix) Got all 15 mins of this beauty in wave format!
me - Balandine/Fiori
I've said this in another thread, but it seems that the longer a track, the more talented a producer must be to make it work. I've rarely heard tracks over 10 minutes that I don't like. It's probably for the same reason that pop music tends to max out around the four minute mark.
Jam & Spoon - Follow Me (12:28) 1993

My Top 3:
Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Perry O'Neil Instrumental) 12:32
Markus Schulz pres. Elevation - Somewhere (Original Mix) 12:14
Leama - Requiem For A Dream (Leama Dream Mix) 11:39
Cape Town - Metaphorique (Ferry Tayle Neverending Story Mix)
Underworld - Banstyle / Sappy's Curry. About 15 mins. Starts out intelligent D n'B then changes to downbeat / ambient. Awesome guitar riff in the breakdown. Lots of elements coming in and out to maintain interest.
Track 2 on secondtoughtestintheinfants
Amoebassassin - Piledriver (Grayed Out Summer Mix)
Etienne de Crecy - Hold The Line
14 minutes of a small loop that lasts like 5 seconds. But the loop rocks.
I like far to many tracks over 11 minutes to name a favourite, so here's a few I've listened to and thought "Fuck me, this is interesting all the way through":
Blue Amazon - No Other Love (12.41)
Blue Amazon - And Then The Rain Falls (16.07)
Blue Amazon - And Then The Rain Falls (Javelin Mix) (15.21)
Blue Amazon - Searching (16.39)

BT & Tori Amos - Blue Skies (The Delphinium Days Mix) (12.52)
Dominion - The Gate (Renaissance Mix) (12.53)

Sasha - Magic (Blue Amazon Remix) (14.28)
Sasha & Marie - Be As One (13.20)
Seal - I'm Alive (BT & Sasha's Future Atraxion Mix) (13.48)
Sunday Club - Paladian Dawn (11.50)

Proper epic!
