Looking for a collab partner

Hi,

I'm the label owner of Amon Vision (www.myspace.com/amonvision)I DJ and have now started producing again after a long 2 year break due to running the label.

I use Fl studio 8 and have the following vst's, Vanguard, Albino 3, V-Station, z3ta+, Sylenth1. I've currently working on a collab with Luke Terry however I'd like a collab partner for future projects. I'm seeking an experienced FL user who preferable already has releases as I'm often good at editing tracks and making them sound good and doing final touches with eq, fx, percs etc, but I hate structuring a track which is one major reason I prefer to collab.

if your so connected , why you lookin on here to collab?

But you hate to arrange , so one person does 95% and you tart it up a little bit.Why dont you make a career from mastering?

Kismet7, seriously, go find some other forum. Perhaps I can translate some reasons to fit your language: We just can't appreciate your self-evident facts, your unwavering willingness to be a constant help, your open-mindedness, your well-illustrated arguments, your objective clarity, and your agreeable attitude. You're interfering with our e-peen measuring contest, our fanboyism, and our desire to choose illogical or unreasonable or shallow conclusions based on selective experience, and our desire to speak a position while lacking in experience. Etc etc and so forth.

We are deaf to the heavenly chorus of salvation that are your great posts. I'm 100% positive other forums will appreciate your valuable and indispensable input, and your shining personality. You should be the bigger person and raise yourself out from the cesspool of this forum that you've unwillingly gotten yourself mired into.

DJ German: Apologies for the derail. Very sorry.

How is arrangement 95% if I'm doing synths, percs, bass, eq, kick etc, so what it takes you a week to arrange the track but 10 min to create the whole thing ?

If I knew decent FL Studio uses I obviously wouldn't be asking here.

What is this, a freaking sandbox where you sit at the top of the fucking slide deciding who gets to use the slide? Fuck you. You insecure nerd, your probably mad I superceded your knowledge in a thread and feel unimportant and irrelevant. Like the mastering thread I created, which you came like a douchebag with a banana sticking out of your ass, with your shitty attitude. And then the other thread about the bass sound, you gave this long bullshit e-penis im so knowledgeable reply that probably confused the guy more than anything, while i actually posted a sample and can show him how to get the exact sound if he has z3ta. And then you come asking me how to make the sound as if I dont know how to make the sound I created myself.

I haven't attacked your integrity yet but you seem to be mad at someone else sharing knowledge. So maybe you should take the break and find somewhere where everyone is fucking dumb so your sorry ass can stand out and get some attention lol. And if you want to question my knowledge why don't you setup a production competition between me and yourself, because at least the knowledge I share is backed up by some decent music.

i'd like to collab but i use reason, so sending/reciving parts of the track would be kinda hard.

edit: LOL at the guys arguing

No one is arguing, but someone threw their lipstick purse, mad I washed my hands in the same sink they were freshening up in, thats all, carry on, pretend we're not in the room.

ps: I started on Reason 2.0, isnt Reason super easy to collaborate through? Just send the latest build to eachother, everything is inclusive, no VSTs, should be easy no?

is it? I mean, I've done this before, the only thing is to decide who makes the final noises...you can share the midi file and send that back and forth...

And if you care enough then later on one can make the sounds export them to wav and the other can mix it...

I don't really see a problem here, unless both collab partners are stubborn...

I need producer!
Or something...
I think it is a producer that I am needing?

1. I make my own vocals/lyrics
2. I make my melodies/basses + sounds
3. I pretty much can make the song's structure

BUT what I can't do:
1. The kicks/bass drums always sound lame
2. I am so bad at mixing the final song/sounds...
3. Also the vocals would need some effecting...

But I don't know if that sort of thing is collab?
You know what I mean?

Sounds like a fit. You two oughta give it a try.

Yeh only collabs I do are over at the Flipside forums (for fruity) it would be cool to do some group collab here but it might not be as practical, at least for me.

Posted by Knowland on Feb-09-2009 02:52:

Booster has the right idea about exchanging audio clips.

If you need creative inspiration you should just ask. Isn't that the reason most of us choose to collaborate? Unless you think you are a magic producer with the next big sound, I can't see a reason why someone would refuse on those grounds.

On my part, leads are difficult because I do not have all these fancy wavetable and FM synths. I use a lot of subtractive and custom made wavetables. But I write good music when I have the right sounds, it usually goes that way. Notes are meaningless for the most part.

Right now I am looking for a rippin organ sound for a prog house track.

Heh reminds me of a recent attempt I did at collab with some guys local to me. One used Live, one used Logic, and I was on Cubase. We COULDVE made it work but... yeah. Not practical. It flopped.
