This looks shit hot, been waiting for the TL ever since they announced this a month or so back but I had no idea it'd be this mouth-watering. Spicy.

Posted by shonguiz on May-29-2009 17:19:

So how is the track with Buttrich ?

Posted by marckoza on Jun-01-2009 21:32:

more Konrad Black than Buttrich, could be epic, but for now nothing more than solid

I guess I've been sleeping on this or something but I guess I should check it out.

Maybe I'm getting jaded or something and expecting too much out of a mix comp but it seems more and more these djs and producers find their niche of friends and just play each other's stuff ad nauseum. I trust Black's taste as I've seen him live and the show was mega, but that tracklist LOOKS and I stress looks a little deflating. I have heard of pretty much all those producers and there's plenty that show up a couple of times. I'm aware it's the internet and good music is good music, but we all make fun of Armin punting Discover and Tyas and Anjunashit, why not when Black is punting Troxler, Dear, Ostgut, and other shit?

Maybe I expect too much but I thought Holden branched out quite a bit with his At the Controls and now it just seems like everyone is jerking each other off to make a buck rather than crate digging and being innovative .

I dunno, maybe I'm just sick of edm

Double posting? Adam, I think you've reached an all time low, here.

Posted by wotyzoid on Jun-01-2009 23:10:

Not to mention your constant complaining is getting a bit annoying; I mean that in the nicest way possible. We all know you think the current scene is boring but there really nothing we could recommend you do besides maybe dig a bit deeper and find something you like or move on to something else. Yeah there's a lot of recycling going on but most of us just bite past that and look further until we find something we like. It doesn't change a thing to keep complaining. And again, I mean that in the nicest way possible.

Posted by enydo on Jun-02-2009 01:24:

Adam does far more "digging" in terms of music than anyone I know, he's just not digging into the shuffle-me-timbers tech house bin anymore. Just look at his last like... 6 mixes he's posted, each of them other than 2 - 3 dubstep mixes are all basically different genres. He's definitely branching out, haha...

Anyways, I have yet to check this out and I really need to, Konrad's show here was by far the best DJ set I've ever heard out.

eh? I'm not allowed to point things out if it's Konrad, but with Armin it's alright?

Don't get me wrong, I think Konrad's an alright guy, or whatever his real name is, cba, I'm just saying, doesn't it get boring?

I've noticed it in every genre, the sets all contain the same sounds and they all play their friend's and labelmate's tracks in some giant techno reach-around. I'm not JUST blaming Konrad, I'm blaming lots of people. And maybe it's not a bad thing, maybe it's just the way it goes, but I looooove looking for shit and playing whatever.

Maybe I'm completely off-base too, and they're not going at it with the mentality I think they are and I'm just spouting complete bs conjecture, but it sure seems like they're doing what I portrayed most of the time.
