Damian Lazarus - Moment [Get Physical]

First track out from his new album.

Heard him play this twice, both times some of the most memorable evenings of music in memory...

this sounds really interesting. I'd buy it blind just cuz I love the guy's Soma mix so much.

Posted by Guest on Feb-05-2009 16:54:

I agree that the dub is excellent but you dont hear a dying cat in that vocal? Maybe I've lost my ear

It's a little annoying, yes, but it's not THAT bad

I think it fits the music quite well, reminds me of Bjork.

yes very bjorkey. Bjork and a whale doing a duet. That's what it sounds like.

I forget who it is but her voice isn't bad.

This is his reset track...it's like pulling the plug on the whole party and starting over from 0.

He would do that. Such a heady move lol

if people are f'ed up enough (which I'm sure Lazarus fans are), you can pretty much do anything as long as you're playing a strong track selection. I mean look at his Soma mix most of it isnt beat matched he just uses a woosh to fill in the gaps. Rather nicely I might add.

on a side note I bought Moments and Damian's Bugged Out 2x12" LP. Gonna pitch Moment up for sure...its in that in between BPM range

I really like that vocal line actually.

Pretty cool track.

Posted by wotyzoid on Feb-05-2009 22:52:

Haha when I read the comments on the vocals I was skeptical lol. NOt bad at all actually IMHO.

I love the tune, the bassline is bliss.

I just don't think it's a big deal. Yeah it's probably a bit slower, round 115...turntables have pitch control...

On my first listen I was immediately turned off by the vocals, but after hearing it a couple more times, the track grew on me. Might grab this and pitch it up.

who said its a big deal? I noticed as of late people are making tracks slower and slower.

Posted by Clovis on Feb-07-2009 05:04:

I like it.

I like to play at 120 most of the time
