FAO: Drunk white people with no particular clue for EDM.

What kinds of vocal house/electro would you like to hear?

Is this a stealthy "I've been booked for a Top 40 club and I need some tracks" thread?

In that case I was sent Shinichi Osawa's album "The One" to review recently, and it's got some nice poppy electro house stuff on that would probably go down well with the drunk and clueless white people.

Posted by denys envy on Feb-05-2009 16:36:

well i definitely plan on dropping some deadmau5. probably a bunch of freemasons(edited) remixes... fuck i really didn't plan for this. but $500 in one night is not an easy thing to pass up.

edit: freemasons, i meant freemasons not funkagenda

Posted by lacksesepsotygh on Feb-05-2009 18:09:

remixes by freemasons

Posted by Mr Game+Watch on Feb-05-2009 18:10:

Kaskade - 4AM (Adam K and Soha mix) - commercial, but a nice song. Also, Freemasons, Shapeshifters, Stonebridge (that Ne-Yo remix would go over well)

Posted by Armitage on Feb-05-2009 18:43:

Play all the songs that they use as background music for car commercials. And daft punk - no one can resist daft punk.

So glad I don't take gigs like this anymore.

Posted by bas on Feb-05-2009 18:55:

You know...you can always just play what you normally play. If they don't like, that's too bad.

Definitely not playing as much and definitely not getting paid as often.

while this is true, this particular gig will not only function as a debut, but also an audition. should i succeed in moving the asses of the masses (white drunk masses), i will land a saturday weekly that will not only pay for my drug habits, but allow me to get some name recognition. furthering my chances of playing what i want in the future.

i'm looking at it as a slow building process, for now it's just a foot in the door.

A couple of shit-tracks that will get people moving:

Afrojack - Do my dance (shakdaddy on 'star 69' remix)
ATB - Prodof (Dirty Electro House Remix)
Dada Life - Your Favourite Flu (Original Mix)
DJ Fist Robinson Valentti-Reach (Thomas Gold Remix)
Geoff K - Vodka & Sugafree Redbull (The Squatters Mix)
George Morel feat. SPJ - Lets Take Drugs (Cedric Gervais Remix)
Lady Gaga - Just Dance (Tony Arzadon Extended Club Remix)
Mighty Dub Katz - Just Another Groove (Tocadisco Remix)
Robbie Rivera Vs Aha - Take On This (Robbie Rivera 2008 Remix)
The chemical brothers feat. fatlip - salamon dance( Fuckjack remix)
Massimo Santucci - Get Down (Swen Webber Remix)
Thomas Sagstad - Playmode
Safri Duo - Baiao (Krzysztof Chochlow remix)
Aaron Smith - Dancin' (Steve Smooth & JJ Jones Remix)

Knock yourself out. I sure did, back in the days.
