-- DJ or venue more important to you?

DJ or venue more important to you?

Of course DJ. But I don't think I want to go to the same venue 3 times during the week. Some venue variety would be nice, especially for us non-locals that only come to Miami once a year.

I used to spend entire weeks at B.E.D. when their lineups were unmissable.

i usually follow the dj, the dj is most important to me. but there are many factors that make a night a good night. the sick vibe, meaning the crowd, the atmosphere, the club and the dj all working in unison. if one of them isnt right the whole night can be thrown out of wack

Posted by Salem on Feb-10-2009 14:02:

the dj, ffs, its about the music. The vibe will come when the music is good.

DJ.. why would you go to the same place there are soo many different parties that week

Posted by rudeflame on Feb-10-2009 14:58:

I think what your getting at is...can a bad venue ruin a good dj? and to answer that, yes...

sooo djs are great to see as long as they are at good venues...both go hand in hand

Posted by drEamer on Feb-10-2009 15:38:

both, would you want to see someone at a place u dislike?

No, where I am getting at is I don't want to go to the same venue every night when there are so many venues I'd want to see.

True the people/dj/vibe make the party. Venue is just walls.

Shoot, in LA I am @ Vanguard almost every Saturday night. Its my default venue to be, but that is still once a week and not every night. (I can remember going 4 nights in a row...3 night for Open Bar/Tiesto followed by Kaskade Sat night). I enjoyed the lower bpm of Kaskade. 3 years ago it would have been Tiesto all the way.

could not be farther from the truth. ever consider a sound system? A lighting rig? The staff? The crowd!

Let me guess, Anjuna and M_nus one night and then AM only the next night ? I'm compelled to go to Anjnua/M_nus, but I really don't want to go to Karu-Y twice in a row. It's a fun venue, but as some others have said it's nice to get variety.

I certainly hope it's not separate tickets for Anjuna and M_nus. They don't do it for AM Only.

Yeah, I'm looking to do the same. It will depend on who I'm with and how they're feeling. If the M_NUS party is rocking for some reason and we're comfortable, it may be smartet no to leave. Wonder what the crowd will be like at the terrace that morning....

DJ is the most important but that being said there are only a few DJs that I would see play almost anywhere. For one I will not go to Space during WMC. It just plains sux donkey diks.

I would really like to see Sasha and Digweed but the set up at Mansion with the VIP on the dance floor blows so I won't go there. It was good before that when Delta Heavy was there and Luke Fair opened. I need room to dance my pants.

Venue still plays a role in selection. I want good sound. I also prefer places to kick back if I am going to be there for a long time. Pawn Shop was awesome (Howells, Burridge, Digweed, Sunday School, Mark Knight all great times). I would go there at least once each WMC and one year went three times. I also like BED a lot when they have sound in. Like the other poster I spent multiple nights there during one conference.

I think it depends on where you are in the world. Of course the DJ is important, but being from NJ its nice to target outdoor venues or pool parties and enjoy the gorgeous weather and take a break from the frigid weather

I care more about the music, and sound system... then the venue... just as long as their is enough room to dance...

I'd say sound system is part of the venue. After going to that Kingdom party last year, I think it's easy to say that the venue can definitely make or break a party. That party definitely had the DJs, but the venue was so shitty that it kind of ruined the whole vibe.

Yeah I consider sound part of the venue but if we are now comparing venue to sound then I take sound every time. I could care less about how nice a place is, if the sound is crap then all is lost. Quickest vibe killer period.
