Magda Flyerart request

Hello there,

I found this flyer from a magdas party and loved the picture on the background. So just asking if someone here recognizes it or knows where I can get it.

thanks

this was a picture i found on....ffffound.com. The site is purposefully randomized, there is very little way to find images there repeatedly, you have to save them on your desktop and i didn't keep this one

sorry

thanks for the compliment on the flyer - the party was wicked too

Isn't that the party Clovis played at?

What are the legal rules with respect to using other people's internet artwork for promotion materials like flyers and promo CD's and stuff? I would think it would be illegal to use without permission... is it just that nobody really cares?

I'm not trying to criticize or anything, i'm just curious.

Most artists that post their work on the web do so under a Creative Commons license.

this particular image was not posted by the artist him/her self, i found a repost of it with no clue as to who it came from

I really love this flier, it caught my eye so hard when I first saw it.

Thanks for telling me what to look for. I did some research and it seems as though there are many different kinds of creative commons licenses, only some of which allow for creation and display of derivative works for commercial purposes, and all of them ask for some kind of attribution to the original creator.

Obviously if it's been posted on other sites attributing the original creator becomes very difficult, and determining the specific license type even harder, but does that really make it legal to just ignore the license? I doubt it.

Either way it happens all the time in flyer design and nobody seems to get in trouble for it, probably because there just isn't enough money in trying to sue some local party promotion crew for illegal use of an image. I'm sure if Coke tried to use that photo in a worldwide advertising campaign it would be a different story.

Sick flyer either way.

Any news Clovis?

Just search for Art Deco style typefaces. You're bound to find something similar.

this is the font

http://www.dafont.com/lt-oksana.font?nb_ppp=50&psize=s&text=DROOG+PRESENTS

it's a little dated to me personally, kind of a weird anachronism that only graphic designers care about

ps, this designer could have got in trouble for abusing the license (unless he/she paid)

Thanks Adam, but I don't think that's the one. Look at the "G" and the "S". They are totally different.

oops,

i don't know what it is then, there are lots of similar deco fonts:
http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/quadrat/toronto-subway/
http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/spiece...lywood-deco-sg/

but check out the 'M' - it's not splayed, but straight.

might be custom?

The first one you posted isn't too bad, but it's still not the real deal.
I'm not saying you're supposed to keep looking for it, but it'd be really nice to get my hands on it as a graphic designer. (Lol, yeah)
