Angry Records keep skipping

Okay so I just got my 1200s like a week ago and they're set up. I followed all the instructions of balancing the tonearms. One table is fine, no problems, but the other one skips maybe 2 out of every 3 times I put a record on. It's driving me nuts!! I use a basic Stanton headshell w/ a screw-in weight of 4 g and Ortofon Pro S stylis. The settings for the tonearm are height at .5, anti-skating at 2, and weight at 2. Are these right? Every time a put a song on it will be fine in the begining then skip and be stuck towards the end. It never happens at the beggining, usually when the song is about 70% or so over. Anyone ever run into this problem before and know how to correct it? Thanks in advance.

And by the way... beat-matching is the freakin hardist thing ever. I have a new respect for DJs who do it like nothing. Hopefully in time I'll get it. Right now I'm pretty much totally lost haha. Oh well, just gotta practice huh? Ok enough babling. Peace!!! :-)

make sure you have the tone arm at a parallel to the record. And make sure anti-skate is only 2 grams. It must be on too high if it's pulling the arm back.
You might want to re-balance your arm with he headshell on and then bring it forward 2 grams. maybe even tun down the anti skate and see if that helps.

If in doubt turn the counterwight a notch to increase the weight the needle puts on record. But there is something wrong if both weights are the same on the same type of turntable and only one is skipping! Strange indeed!!!

happened to me as well, I actually figured out that it's because the stylii, although they are the same make have different weights

sounds bloody low, i have ortonfon concordes and they are on 4.5 i think, the top line of ur cart is meant 2 be parallel to the platter while playin, i suggest u take a look at that.

Another Strange occurance

Well I spent alot of time and reset both my turntables to new settings and the one that skipped works alot better now. The thing that I noticed that is very strange is it depends on the record I put on. I have no idea why but the original mix of Joker Jam's "Innocence" always skips no matter what. Right after the breakdown it goes all over the place. The other side, The PvD mixes plays fine though. And both are perfect on the other table. Very weird. For some reason I think it might be the tonearm itself cuz I've put every possible height, weight setting there is and nothing seems to work. I bought it used on ebay so chances are it could be messed up. Hopefully I can find out whats wrong soon
