Where's the common sense?

http://edition.cnn.com/2009/US/02/1....mom/index.html

Did she really not realize the financial consequences of having 6 kids until after she had another 8 (through fertility transplants mind you)?

this whole situation frustrates me. i find her actions very irresponsible.

This is where laws like Chinas One Child policy are good.

Forced abortions ftw!

haha! Octomom got caught on camera the other day getting a subsidized manicure as well... plus using some of her welfare to buy video games.

And it takes quite a borderline psycho turn too. Check out this tidbit:
quote:
Though Suleman categorically denies she's undergone any plastic surgery to make her look like [Angelina] Jolie, neighbors, friends and family members of the unemployed single mom of 14 challenge those denials -- as do earlier photographs of Suleman clearly indicating thinner lips and a different-looking nose.

Apparently, over the past year or so, Suleman has made attempts to reach out to Jolie -- sending her admiring letters and extolling her talent and humanitarian efforts on behalf of children's issues around the world.

"At least she wasn't a total crazy ... like the stalkers who try to actually meet Angelina and follow along with the paparazzi,"' added the source, who also said, "It is clear this woman needs psychological help. It's one thing to clip out a celebrity's photo from a magazine and ask your [hair] stylist to copy that cut. Who hasn't done that? But to have a nose job, have collagen injections in your lips and start talking like Angelina -- that's over the top."

For the record, Jolie is freaked out about this woman. lol

follow up bonus. An interview with her grandmother yielded these comments, after Nadya has basically bankrupted Granny:

"The truth is that Nadya hasn't worked since she started having her children," Angela, charged, "while Ed and I battled to pay her bills. Nadya promised to help me with the bills, but she never has. I lost a house because of it and now I'm struggling to look after her six. We had to put in bunk beds, feed them in shifts and there's children's clothing piled all over the house."

"The truth is Nadya's not capable of raising 14 children."

"To have them all is unconscionable to me. She really really has no idea what she's doing to her children and to me."

Yeah it sounds good, although i've red a report stating that Europe suffers from the opposite problem, namely that not enough children are born. I don't know about the UK, but the birthrate-problem in Greece is getting very severe (and i know that Italy and Germany suffer from the same problem as well).

This is her mother (that she lives with), not her grandmother. I read something where Octomom's publicist (it disgusts me that she has one, but that's another rant) said that they've had a judge put a gag order on the mom.

BTW, has everyone seen that the doctor that implanted the embryos did the same to a woman in her late 40s that now is pregnant with quadruplets. With any luck, she'll die and dumb women who think that they need litters will think twice because their life could be on the line.

They aren't "trying" to have multiples. If it was done in vitro, they will put something like 10-15 fertilized eggs in all at once because they know that most of them will die. However, in some bizarre cases, more live than die, and then you have women having litters.

I think there should be some type of limit to the whole thing. If you have 2 children, you cannot be eligible for in vitro or any "pregnancy assisting" agents of any kind... or something along those lines.

Sounds to me like this woman is a nut job, and I feel bad for those kids.

I was meaning more along the lines of aborting the children of idiots like these. Stupid people only go on to spawn more stupid people, and this women has spawned 14. Somoene should have cut her tubes ages ago.

How one can agree with the unnatural idea of IVF and disagree with having some aborted if a "bizarre" case occurs is beyond me.

And if they do disagree with aborting the extras, they shouldn't be permitted to have more than 1-2 eggs implanted at a time (I guess I can see wanting twins).

oops... yeah I should have said the grandmother of the kids. But yeah, there are some serious ethical lines being crossed by this particular fertility doctor. Is it just me or do you also see a lot of kids these days with parents that look like they have no business having kids?

Hey, there's an American mother that could certainly give 13 children for adoption to German couples!

One of the main reasons I don't want children is because I don't want them screwed up by the idiocy passed on by my peers to their kids.

Seriously, how much in student loans can she be getting?

Octomom has now been spotted shopping at Nordstroms even though her house is in forclosure. Can someone kill this woman already?
